Martinez went 2-for-3 with two home runs, five RBI and four walks in Tuesday's 13-inning loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis

Martinez went 3-for-4 with three RBI from a go-ahead solo home run and a two-run shot in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The slugging outfielder made his presence felt in only his second game of the season, snapping a 3-3 tie in the top of the ninth with a 381-foot solo shot that would prove to be the game-winner. Martinez had taken Angels starter Ricky Nolasco deep with Victor Martinez aboard in the second as well for his first round-tripper of the season. The 29-year-old's bat has been missed as he recovered from a foot injury over the first several weeks of the season, but if Saturday's effort is any indication, he appears ready to contribute his customary level of production.

Martinez is batting sixth and playing right field in his season debut Friday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
After rehabbing a foot injury for the first month and a half of the season, Martinez will finally take back over in right field for Detroit. Martinez (foot) played seven innings in right field and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's game with High-A Lakeland, Evan Woodbery of MLive reports.
EDGE Analysis
Picking up playing time in the outfield was one of the final hurdles for Martinez, and it seems like everything went off without a hitch Saturday. The Tigers may opt to have their slugging right fielder play a couple more rehab games in the outfield just to get more exposure prior to a return to the big leagues, but a full return appears to be on the horizon. Detroit's plans on this front should become clearer in the coming days.
