Davis exited Thursday's game against the Pirates with a left wrist contusion, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis suffered the injury after getting hit by a 97 mph fastball in the sixth inning. X-rays came back negative, though it's not yet clear if he'll be forced to miss any time due to the issue. With Alex Dickerson (oblique) nearing a return, Davis could see a dip in playing time in the near future either way.

Davis was removed from Thursday's game against the Pirates after getting hit by a pitch in his left hand, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis took a 97 mph fastball from Yacksel Rios off his left hand in the sixth inning and was promptly replaced by Joey Rickard. He'll undergo further evaluation following the conclusion of Thursday's game, at which point the severity of the injury should come into focus.

Davis started in right field and went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Davis appeared to be in a timeshare in right field with Austin Slater following his promotion to the majors last week, but the outfielder has now started four consecutive contests over his primary competition. The 25-year-old hasn't done much with the increased role, hitting just .158 (3-for-19) with no extra-base hits and one steal so far. Davis has primarily been filling in for Alex Dickerson (oblique), but the latter is hoping to return as early as this weekend, (according to Kerry Crowley of The Mercury News), which would push the rookie back into a fourth/fifth outfielder role.

Davis started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 9-8 win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was immediately inserted into the starting lineup following his callup with Alex Dickerson missing the contest. Hank Schulman of The San Francisco Chronicle speculates that the latter is dealing with discomfort while swinging again, which could open up regular playing time for Davis. Nothing official about Dickerson's health has been revealed other than his unusual absence from the lineup, but Davis could quickly become relevant in deeper formats if given regular run after combining for 25 homers while hitting well north of .300 across 68 games with two different Triple-A squads this year.

The Giants called up Davis from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Davis, who was acquired from the Twins at the trade deadline, will get a chance to see action at the big-league level for the first time. He doesn't figure to step into an everyday role with the Giants, but with the Giants almost out of playoff contention, he should get a chance to show what he can do. Davis hits right-handed, but he hits right-handers far better than he does lefties, so don't be surprised if he plays more frequently against same-side pitchers than the opposite-side variety.
