Rays re-signed RHP Jay Buente. Buente, 28, was released in mid-September in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Dan Johnson. The righty held a 3.84 ERA over 84 1/3 Triple-A innings this season while sporting an 87/27 K/BB rate. He should be in the mix in spring training to compete for a long relief role.
