Bruce is not in the lineup Thursday against the Yankees, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce has started the past six games, slashing .192/.192/.500 with a pair of homers and six RBI over that stretch, but he'll take a seat on the bench for Thursday's series finale in order to avoid a lefty-on-lefty matchup with J.A. Happ. Mitch Haniger is starting in right field in this one, with Braden Bishop getting a start in center field as a result.

Bruce went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Yankees on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
While he did post two more extra-base hits, this was an uncharacteristic night for Bruce since it helped his average, and he didn't hit the ball out of the park. Despite the three hits, though, Bruce is still only batting .196 this season. But if owners can manage to take that negative in the average category, he's been a strong contributor elsewhere with 11 home runs, 23 RBI and 18 runs in 112 at-bats. Although it's an unusual stat line, Bruce is likely bound to see his average rise, and it could make a significant jump soon. While he is striking out 29.8 percent of the time, he also supports just a .169 BABIP. With a little more luck on balls in play -- like on Tuesday -- Bruce could return to hitting close to .250 soon. For now, he has a .196/.266/.545 slash line.

Bruce went 1-for-5 with a grand slam in a 10-0 victory against the Indians on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old continues to amaze, as he's produced more than solid fantasy numbers in the power statistics despite a .183 batting average. With 15 extra-base hits, including 11 home runs, Bruce possesses a .538 slugging percentage. He has more RBI (22) than hits (19). Owners would definitely like Bruce to be making more contact, but when he has made contact, he's usually driving in runs. He only has four singles all year.

Bruce went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 2-1 loss to the Indians on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Seeing Bruce hit his first homer since April 19 in a game where he accounted for the Mariners' only runs should be encouraging, but it's hard to be positive when Bruce supports a .189 average. On the other hand, though, Bruce is producing in every category except average. Amazingly, he has 14 extra-base hits, including 10 bombs, so despite just 18 hits, he has a .547 slugging percentage with 18 RBI and 16 runs in 95 at-bats this season.

Bruce is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce is just 1-for-14 in four games since returning from a quadriceps injury. He'll head to the bench for Wednesday's series finale against the Cubs in order to avoid a matchup against fellow lefty Jon Lester. In his place, Edwin Encarnacion is starting at first base, with Daniel Vogelbach entering the lineup at DH.

Bruce, who went 1-for-4 with a double and three strikeouts in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday, is 1-for-11 overall in three games since returning from a quadriceps injury.
EDGE Analysis
Half of the 10 outs Bruce has recorded during that stretch have come on strikeouts, underscoring how off his timing at the plate has been. The 32-year-old does have nine home runs across 98 plate appearances, however, which matches his total from 2018 total with the Mets across 361 trips to the plate.

Bruce (quad) isn't in Tuesday's starting lineup against the Padres, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce remains day-to-day with a bruised quad, although he evidently doesn't feel ready to enter the starting lineup just yet. It's also unfortunate that the Mariners are playing at a National League park, as Bruce would be a prime candidate for the designated hitter slot.
