Bruce is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce will get a breather in the series finale after slugging a pair of home runs Saturday to boost his season total to five through 10 games. Though Bruce has been an excellent power source in the heart of the Seattle lineup, he's hitting just .184 while striking out in 28.9 percent of his plate appearances.

Bruce went 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs in Saturday's 9-2 victory over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce hit solo homers off Lucas Giolito in the fourth inning and Manny Banuelos in the ninth inning. The homers were his fourth and fifth of the season. The 32-year old has only seven hits on the season and a .184 batting average, but his five homers have produced 10 RBI in the Mariners' 10 games.

Bruce went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Seattle's 6-3 victory over the Angels on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce has just five hits in 25 at-bats to start the season, but he's made them count as this was his third home run of the campaign to go along with a double, giving him a .600 slugging percentage despite the low average. He was limited to 319 at-bats and a .680 OPS with the Mets last season due to injury, but Bruce looks healthy and has been flashing a good power stroke, so the Mariners will hope that means he's in store for a bounceback campaign.

Bruce went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a double and three runs scored in Sunday's 10-8 win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce's solo shot in the fourth inning was the final touch to Seattle's 10-run outburst. He's gone deep in back-to-back games for the first time since September 2017. If he recovers his power stroke, Bruce could be in line for a strong campaign in this Seattle lineup.

Bruce hit a three-run home run in a 6-5 victory against the Red Sox on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old is off to a slow start with his new team, but maybe the three-run homer will jump start him. He is 2-for-18 (.111) with three walks in the first five games this season. Bruce hit just .223 with nine homers and 37 RBI in 319 at-bats with the Mets last year.

Bruce went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and three RBI overall in a 6-4 exhibition win over the Yomiuri Giants in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday night, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger evidently brought the hot bat he'd been wielding all spring stateside to Japan, and in addition to the seventh-inning round tripper, he also knocked in a run with a first-inning sacrifice fly. Factoring in Saturday's production, Bruce is hitting .424 (14-for-33) with three homers and nine RBI in exhibition play. Looking ahead to the regular season, the soon-to-be 32-year-old projects to spend time at first base, the corner outfield spots and at designated hitter.

Bruce, who went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk in a 7-7 Cactus League tie with the Padres on Wednesday, is now hitting .412 with three RBI and a stolen base over 17 spring at-bats.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce was the biggest name netted by the Mariners in the early December trade with the Mets that sent Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz to New York, but it was at least somewhat unclear how much he had left in the tank after a lackluster 2018. The 31-year-old slashed .223/.310/.370 across 361 plate appearances over 94 games in an injury-marred campaign during which he endured back and hip issues. However, Bruce just launched a career-high 36 homers and posted his second career 100-RBI season in 2017, so a return to full health could simply be all that's necessary for him to thrive in Seattle. Another reason to believe in the possibility of a 2019 resurgence while Bruce fills in at both first base and the outfield is that he displayed a better eye at the plate last season than at any point prior. The veteran slugger lowered his strikeout rate to 20.8 percent while upping his contact rate to 76.5, with both figures serving as the second highest of his long major-league tenure.

Bruce will head from the Mets to the Mariners along with Anthony Swarzak, Jarred Kelenic, Justin Dunn and Gerson Bautista in exchange for Edwin Diaz, Robinson Cano and cash considerations once all physicals have been completed Monday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
A three-time All-Star, Bruce has fallen off recently to the point that he's primarily salary filler in this trade, as he hit just .223/.310/.370 last season while battling back and hip injuries. There's a chance that a return to health could see him get back to the decent form he showed in 2016 and 2017, when he hit at least .250 with at least 33 homers in each season, but he'll be 32 years old in early April, so a continued decline wouldn't be unexpected. Unless he bounces back, it's likely that the Mariners will prefer to give plate appearances to younger players.

Bruce is out of the lineup against the Braves on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce will take a seat following seven straight starts, during which he's gone 7-for-26 (.269 average) with one home run and six RBI. In his absence, Austin Jackson will draw a start in the outfield.

Bruce is not in the lineup Monday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Bruce is hitting a solid .270 with a 1.021 OPS and four homers in his last 11 games. He'll get a rest Monday, with Dominic Smith starting at first base.
