Jamie Moyer said Monday that he hasn't "closed that door yet" on a possible return to baseball.
"I don't know when I would make a decision," Moyer said. "I really haven't put a lot of thought into it. I'm enjoying my time at home at this point." Moyer added that he doesn't "forsee it happening this year." The left-hander will turn 51 in November and posted a 5.70 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 10 starts last season for the Rockies. It goes without saying that him throwing another pitch in the majors is an extreme longshot.

Jamie Moyer said Wednesday that he is not retired.
Moyer was released by the Blue Jays earlier this month after allowing 10 runs in 11 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas and remains unsigned on the free agent market. He hopes to give it another go at some point. "I'm just kind of laying in the weeds and just trying to figure out what's going on," said the veteran left-hander. "I'm just going to step back after the season and assess what's going on, and see how I feel and go from there."

Blue Jays manager John Farrell said the team is still pondering a promotion of Jamie Moyer.
Moyer's minor league deal with the Jays guarantees him only two starts, and he's been shaky in those two outings, posting an 8.18 ERA and 1.81 WHIP. But, with the injuries to the major league rotation, Toronto might decide to give him a shot, anyway. He shouldn't be considered in fantasy leagues if he does receive a promotion.

Jamie Moyer's minor league contract with the Blue Jays only guarantees him two Triple-A starts.
The Jays are hurting badly for starting pitching depth at the major league level, so the 49-year-old left-hander stands a decent chance of actually getting promoted. Moyer just got done posting a 1.69 ERA and 16/0 K/BB ratio in 16 innings with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate.

Blue Jays signed LHP Jamie Moyer to a minor league contract.
Moyer will head to Triple-A Las Vegas to make some tuneup starts. The Blue Jays are really hurting in their rotation, so the opportunity is there, but the 49-year-old southpaw hasn't been given any promises of an eventual call-up.

Orioles released LHP Jamie Moyer.
It's no surprise, as Moyer had the ability to opt out of his contract and was granted his release. He'll attempt to continue his career elsewhere, but remains doubtful to hold any fantasy value.

Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette confirmed that the team has asked Jamie Moyer to make one more start with Triple-A Norfolk.
Moyer, who signed a minor league deal with Baltimore earlier this month, has a 1.69 ERA and 16/0 K/BB ratio in 16 innings over his first three starts with the Tides. Duquette is currently waiting to hear back from Moyer, but Eddie A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun writes that he "didn't sound too optimistic." The 49-year-old left-hander has the ability to opt out of his contract soon, so the O's may be forced to add him to the active roster.

Jamie Moyer can opt out of his minor league deal with the Orioles if not promoted in the next few days.
Moyer has allowed just four runs (three earned) in 16 innings at Triple-A Norfolk since signing that contract. He struggled mightily for the Rockies earlier this season and seems doubtful to fare much better against AL East teams, but the O's may decide to give him a look. The 49-year-old left-hander is in his 25th MLB season.

Jamie Moyer will start for Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.
There was some speculation that he could be a candidate to start Saturday for the Orioles, but it turns out he'll get another start or two in the minors before being re-evaluated. The 49-year-old southpaw tossed five shutout innings in his first start with the Tides on Saturday.

Jamie Moyer tossed five shutout innings Saturday in his first outing at Triple-A Norfolk.
Moyer walked only one and struck out five. He signed a minor league contract with the O's earlier this week after being released by the Rockies. Baltimore may be tempted to give him a crack in the majors if the success continues, but the 49-year-old left-hander is doubtful to be very effective.
