Thompson allowed on run on four hits over seven innings Sunday to pick up his 11th win of the season for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson may have been making his last start at Triple-A with Jeremy Hellickson likely to be traded before Monday's deadline. Over his last 10 games, Thompson is 7-0 with a 1.32 ERA and a 39:16 K:BB in 68.1 innings. He is not going to rack up strikeouts in the majors, but he should eat plenty of innings and produce solid ratios if he can continue to keep the ball on the ground.

Thompson tossed seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. He allowed three hits while striking out five and walking one.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson pitched the same night as Jeremy Hellickson, who is likely to be traded this month. That indicates Thompson will be brought up to the majors in the coming weeks. He is on a roll, having given up just four earned runs over his last eight starts. Overall, he is 8-5 with a 2.42 ERA and a 77:32 K:BB ratio in 111.2 innings for Lehigh Valley.

Thompson credits his recent success to a mechanical adjustment that he made with Triple-A Lehigh Valley pitching coach David Lundquist, Paul Schwedelson of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson's upper body and lower body weren't aligning in his delivery which caused his secondary pitches to be less sharp. Since making the mechanical adjustment, Thompson has a 0.73 ERA over his last seven starts and has gone at least six innings in each of those appearances. He has also increased his ground ball rate from 29.2 percent in the first two months of the year to 36 percent over the last five weeks. He is likely next in line for an opportunity in the Phillies' rotation. That opportunity could come this month if Jeremy Hellickson is traded before the deadline.

Thompson allowed one run on five hits over eight innings Thursday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He struck out four and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson seems to have found his groove of late. He has allowed just one run over his last three starts with a 12:5 K:BB in 21 innings. Thompson is likely next in line for an opportunity with the Phillies when a spot in their rotation opens up. He does not have big-time upside, but should be a solid mid-rotation starter in time if he continues to develop.

Thompson allowed one run on two hits over seven innings Tuesday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He struck out four and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
This was probably Thompson's best outing of the season thus far. He got 10 of his outs on ground balls. He is now 1-3 with a 4.85 ERA and a 22:10 K:BB in 26 innings. He will be in consideration for a promotion to the majors the next time the Phillies need a starter.
