Rogers will have his contract selected from Triple-A Toledo prior to Tuesday's game against the Angels, Anthony French of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers are expected to waive Bobby Wilson on Tuesday afternoon, clearing the way for Rogers to step in as the team's starting backstop. Though he hasn't been overly impressive at the dish for the Mud Hens this season (.223/.321/.458 slash line over 48 games), he'll be given the opportunity to prove he belongs in the big leagues.

Rogers was promoted to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Tom Reisenweber of the Erie Times-News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rogers was slashing .309/.439/.556 with five homers and 20 RBI in 26 contests prior to joining the Mud Hens. After hitting just .219 over 99 games with Double-A Erie a season ago, he appears to have found his stroke at the plate.

The Tigers reassigned Rogers to their minor-league camp Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Considered one of the best defensive backstops in the minor leagues, Rogers' prowess behind the plate could allow him to reach the majors quicker than most catching prospects, but he doesn't offer many exciting tools from a fantasy standpoint. He at least held his own at the plate while splitting time between the Low-A and High-A level in 2017, batting .261/.350/.467 with 18 home runs and 14 steals. That could be enough for the Tigers to feel comfortable assigning the 22-year-old to Double-A Erie to begin the campaign.

Rogers has been invited to the Tigers' major-league camp this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Rogers, who was one of three prospects the Tigers received in exchange for Justin Verlander last August, spent most of the 2017 campaign at High-A, slashing a combined .263/.355/.450 with 12 homers and 13 stolen bases in 85 games with Buies Creek (Houston) and Lakeland (Detroit). He'll likely report to High-A or Double-A to open the 2018 season.

Rogers, 22, is batting .270/.363/.463 with 10 home runs, 49 RBI and 13 steals in 69 games since being promoted to High-A Buies Creek.
EDGE Analysis
Rogers has shown both pop and speed this season, along with the ability to take a walk. It was thought that his defensive skills would far surpass his hitting acumen, but Rogers has been surprisingly proficient at the dish. Though he could stand to strike out a bit less, the Astros have to be pleasantly surprised with Rogers' hitting thus far.
