Odorizzi (abdomen) will throw a bullpen session when the Twins return to Target Field on Monday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi suffered an abdominal bruise after getting hit by a line drive in his Aug. 22 start and was placed on the IL. He was too sore to throw the past few days, but it sounds like he's making progress. However, he may need some extended time to build back arm strength since he's only made three starts this season after beginning the season on the injured list due to a back injury.

Odorizzi (abdomen) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi was hit in the chest by a line drive that forced him out of Friday's start early, and he'll miss additional time as a result of the injury. It's unclear exactly how much time he'll have to spend on the injured list. The right-hander sputtered out of the gates to begin the season as he carries an 8.10 ERA over 10 innings during his first three starts, albeit with a strong 9:2 K:BB. Sean Poppen and Daniel Coulombe were added to the 28-man roster in corresponding moves.

Odorizzi was diagnosed with an abdomen contusion following Friday's loss to the Royals, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi labored through his start Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out one over three innings prior to being hit by a line drive. He was charged with the loss as a result of the performance. Odorizzi said that he had the wind knocked out of him after being hit, but whether he'll be forced to miss any additional time remains to be seen. The right-hander now carries an 8.10 ERA over 10 innings across his first three starts this year.

Odorizzi allowed two earned runs on three hits and no walks while striking out six across four innings in the first game of the team's doubleheader Saturday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi retired the first 11 batters he faced, six of them on punchouts. However, he was quickly pulled after allowing a single and home run to the first batters he faced in the fifth inning, leaving him short of qualifying for the win. Even so, it was a positive outing for Odorizzi, as he showed improved control in his second outing of the campaign. He'll look to work deeper into the game in his next outing, currently projected to come Thursday against Milwaukee.

Odorizzi will start Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Royals on Saturday after Friday's contest was postponed, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's contest was postponed due to rain, but Odorizzi will still be ready to start to open the series against Kansas City. He'll take the mound for the first of the seven-inning contests Saturday with Jose Berrios starting Game 2. Odorizzi allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two over three innings in his season debut.

Odorizzi allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two over three innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
A limited pitch count was expected for Odorizzi after he missed the start of the season with a back issue, and he could only get nine outs on his 71 pitches. He gave up a homer to Jorge Soler in the third inning, so this was one to forget, but Odorizzi took a big leap last season and he's in a great situation with the Twins. The right-hander will look to go deeper into the game next week in a rematch against the Royals, this time in Minnesota.

Odorizzi won't throw more than 70 or 75 pitches in his season debut against the Royals, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Back issues popped up for Odorizzi in the middle of camp and delayed his season debut. He threw just over 50 pitches in his most recent live batting practice session, so he won't come close to a full starter's workload Saturday, but there's a chance he pitches deep enough to earn a win if he's efficient and effective.

Odorizzi (back) was activated off the 10-day injured list Saturday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi has been recovering from back stiffness since the end of camp, but he'll make his season debut Saturday against the Royals. The right-hander threw 50 pitches his last time facing batters and could throw between 70 and 75 pitches against the Royals, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Josh Donaldson (calf) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move.

Odorizzi (back) will come off the injured list to start Saturday's game at Kansas City, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was expected to be on track for a weekend activation and it sounds like his latest side session went off without a hitch. The Twins haven't indicated how deep Odorizzi will be able to go in the outing, but he draws a strong fantasy matchup on paper for what will be his season debut.
