Lamb, who went 2-for-6 with a walk, RBI and run in Monday's 8-7 win over the Dodgers in 15 innings, was being evaluated after the contest after experiencing some discomfort in his shoulder, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb first appeared to hurt his shoulder while taking a diving stab at a line drive earlier in the contest and then may have aggravated the issue when he dove headfirst into home plate for the tying run in the bottom of the 15th. Expect the team to provide an update on Lamb's condition prior to Tuesday's rematch with the Dodgers, but even if he checks out fine, there's a good chance the third baseman will be held out of the lineup with a tough lefty in Clayton Kershaw on the mound.

Lamb went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBI in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Thanks to leadoff man David Peralta and No. 3 hitter Paul Goldschmidt reaching base three times and Nick Ahmed and Jarrod Dyson thriving at the bottom of the lineup, Lamb saw three plate appearances with the bases loaded and made those opportunities count, supplying a pair of two-run hits. It's expected that Lamb will ride the pine or move down in the lineup against left-handed pitching, but the third baseman should be well positioned for a second straight 100-RBI campaign if he continues to handle cleanup duties versus right-handers for the balance of the season.

Lamb is expected to start at third base and bat cleanup in Thursday's season opener against the Rockies, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After swatting 59 home runs over the past two seasons, Lamb is more than deserving of the assignment in the heart of the order. Seeing regular at-bats directly behind A.J. Pollock and Paul Goldschmidt should help prop up Lamb's counting stats and make up for the third baseman's ineptitude against left-handed pitching, which continues to befuddle him. Lamb managed a lowly .159/.265/.301 line versus lefties in 2017, which may prompt manager Torey Lovullo to shield the 27-year-old from those matchups even more proactively this season.

Lamb is off to a 4-for-22 (.182 average) start at the plate in spring training entering Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the poor average, Lamb has hit the ball hard when he has made contact, leaving the yard twice. Fantasy owners earmarking a third-base, corner-infield or utility spot for Lamb shouldn't make too much of his underwhelming performance so far this spring with regards to his outlook for the upcoming campaign, but the 27-year-old could nonetheless have a tougher time repeating the 30 homers and 64 total extra-base hits he delivered last season after it was announced in February that a humidor would be installed at Chase Field in 2018. As Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic notes, a study published last year by University of Illinois physics professor Dr. Alan Nathan revealed that a humidor could reduce home-run production at Chase Field by 25-to-50 percent, a more significant drop than what was experienced at Colorado's Coors Field due to Phoenix's lower average relative humidity. A depressed power environment in Arizona would be particularly damaging for a player like Lamb, who has been no better than a negative-to-neutral fantasy contributor in terms of stolen bases and batting average over his four seasons in the big leagues.

Lamb agreed to a one-year, $4.275 million deal with the Diamondbacks on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was Lamb's first offseason as an arbitration-eligible player, and he was rewarded for his impressive offensive production over his first three-plus seasons. Lamb cut his strikeout rate and upped his walk rate last season, but he remains a liability against left-handed pitching (44 wRC+ in 2017, 47 wRC+ against southpaws for his career). He makes for a good source of power and counting stats, but his batting average will be middling as long as he is an everyday player.

Lamb is out of the lineup for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Dodgers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
With left-hander Clayton Kershaw taking the mound for Los Angeles, Lamb will retreat to the bench as Adam Rosales draws the start at the hot corner. He will be available, and is likely to enter the game at some point, either as a pinch hitter or subbing in for Rosales in the latter stages of Friday's affair.

Lamb went 4-for-5 with three runs Wednesday in the Diamondbacks' 11-8 win over the Rockies in the National League wild-card game.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb has fit the profile of a Three True Outcomes player for much of his career, but he prioritized contact hitting over selling out for power Wednesday, as all of his hits were singles. He picked a good time to deliver his only four-hit game of the campaign, though the third baseman put together seven three-hit performances during the regular season.

Lamb went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
With his second long ball in as many days, Lamb is now up to 30 home runs for the season, besting his previous career high established in 2016. While Lamb has mostly held steady in batting average and steals compared to his marks in 2016, the Diamondbacks' improved offense has allowed him to up his run total from 81 to 89 and his RBI total from 91 to 104, giving him more all-around fantasy value this season.

Lamb went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb put the Diamondbacks on the board for the first time in the contest with his 29th long ball of the season in the fifth inning, and turned in key at-bats in the seventh and ninth to aid the team's comeback effort. The third baseman will have three games remaining in the regular season to reach 30 homers for the first time in his career.

Lamb is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks clinched home-field advantage for the NL wild-card game with Sunday's walkoff win, so Lamb will get the day off as manager Torey Lovullo rests his starters. In his place, Adam Rosales will start at third base and bat sixth.
