Lamb has gone 1-for-10 with a pair of walks while appearing in five Cactus League games this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb was likely looking for a better start to the spring after shoulder problems rendered him a major disappointment in 2018, but his potential investors shouldn't draw too many conclusions from a five-game sample. After primarily playing third base over parts of his first five big-league seasons, Lamb is set to transition to a full-time role across the diamond after Arizona dealt away franchise mainstay Paul Goldschmidt over the winter.

Lamb and the Diamondbacks agreed to a one-year, $4.825 million contract Friday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb gets just a small raise after an injury-plagued season in which he hit just .222/.307/.348 in 56 games. He lines up as Arizona's new first baseman with Paul Goldschmidt now in St. Louis, but his job could be under pressure if his numbers don't turn around.

Lamb (shoulder) will be the Diamondbacks' first baseman in 2019 following the trade of Paul Goldschmidt, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The position switch should give Lamb dual eligibility early in the season in most formats, which should give a modest bump to his fantasy value. Of course, he'll have to hit far better than the .222/.307/.348 line he posted in 56 games last season if he's to have much value at all, but the flexibility can't hurt. Lamb underwent shoulder surgery in August but is expected to be good to go by the start of spring training.

Lamb (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
This is simply bookkeeping, as Lamb has already been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery in August. Lamb is expected to be ready for the start of spring training. The move frees up a 40-man roster spot for Yoan Lopez.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that Lamb (shoulder) underwent successful surgery Wednesday and should be fully recovered ahead of spring training, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb first sustained the left shoulder injury when he made a diving stop in a 15-inning win over the Dodgers back on April 2. He was diagnosed with an AC joint sprain that necessitated a six-week stay on the disabled list, but Lamb was never the same once he rejoined the Diamondbacks. He slashed a dreadful .217/.303/.349 in 52 games upon returning from the DL before aggravating the shoulder July 26, with follow-up examinations revealing Lamb had been playing through a fraying rotator cuff. Though the surgery is expected to address his shoulder problems for good, it may be difficult to bank on Lamb re-emerging as a 30-homer force coming off a major procedure.

Lamb is scheduled to undergo surgery in Los Angeles on Aug. 15 to repair a fraying rotator cuff in his left shoulder, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks announced last week that Lamb would require the season-ending procedure, but now a firm date for the surgery has been established. Assuming Lamb endures no unexpected complications while he goes under the knife, he should be back to full strength when spring training commences. Lamb's injury locks Eduardo Escobar in as the Diamondbacks' everyday third baseman for the rest of 2018.

Lamb will require surgery on his left shoulder, and he'll be forced to miss the rest of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb is dealing with fraying in his left rotator cuff after having his MRI examined by Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAtrrache on Tuesday. Following the diagnosis, Lamb will elect to go under the knife, effectively ending his 2018 season. He hit .222 with six homer and 31 RBI through 56 games for the D-backs.

Lamb is set to meet with Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Tuesday to evaluate Lamb's left shoulder injury, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although the injury was diagnosed as a left shoulder bruise, the Diamondbacks are being cautious with the 27-year-old third baseman. Lamb's MRI results will be evaluated by both physicians before deciding how to begin rehab. He suffered a similar injury earlier in the season, and although the issue kept him on the shelf for six weeks, it doesn't appear as serious this time around.

Lamb (shoulder contusion) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Contusions don't always lead to DL stints, but the Diamondbacks can afford to be careful with Lamb after trading for Eduardo Escobar earlier in the day. It is unclear if Lamb will need more than the minimum 10 days to return, but he will be eligible to be activated on Aug. 6. Once healthy, he should still start at third base against most righties, while Escobar spells him against lefties. Escobar will likely get the bulk of his starts at shortstop.

Lamb (shoulder) will travel to San Diego with the rest of his Arizona teammates, and the Diamondbacks will wait to determine his next step, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic Arizona reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks will wait and see how Lamb feels Friday before deciding whether or not to send him home to Phoenix for further evaluation. As such, it's possible he could avoid missing any further action, but it's also possible he could still land on the disabled list. Expect an update on Lamb's status at some point Friday.
