Junis (shoulder) resumed traveling with the Brewers and said Friday that he's feeling better after he was struck in the head by a batted ball during the batting practice in Pittsburgh on Monday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis was sent to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for further evaluation after he was struck by a ball off the bat of Pirates infielder Alika Williams prior to Monday's series opener. Fortunately for Junis, an MRI and CT scan both returned clean, so his buildup program for his recovery from a right shoulder impingement should be relatively uninterrupted. Junis' lone appearance with Milwaukee prior to being shelved with the shoulder injury came as a starter, but Brewers manager Pat Murphy recently suggested that the right-hander might return from the IL in a relief role.

Junis (shoulder) was struck in the head by a ball during batting practice in Pittsburgh on Monday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis was down on the field for several minutes after a ball hit by a Pirates player caught him in the head. He was alert and responsive after eventually getting to his feet and was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. Junis is currently on the injured list with a right shoulder impingement and had recently began a throwing program.

Junis (shoulder) remains limited to throwing on flat ground, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis will be eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list this weekend, but it doesn't sound like he's close to returning. The 31-year-old is in the early stages of ramping things back up as he works his way back from a right shoulder impingement.

The Brewers placed Junis on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Wednesday, with a right shoulder impingement.
EDGE Analysis
Junis first reported a problem with his shoulder shortly after his start Tuesday against the Twins. The 31-year-old right underwent imaging Friday, and although the results came back clean, the Brewers won't risk pushing it. The plan is for him to rest for a couple days before ramping back up, so an extended stay on the IL doesn't seem likely. Aaron Ashby was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move and will presumably take Junis' spot in Milwaukee's rotation.

Junis has been dealing with a shoulder issue since his last start Tuesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said the team is still waiting for imaging results to come back on Junis' shoulder, which will offer more information on whether or not the right-hander will be able to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Monday versus the Reds. Should Junis have to miss his turn through the rotation, Aaron Ashby will come up from Triple-A Nashville to take his place.

Junis struck out four and allowed one run on three hits and a walk over four innings Tuesday against the Twins. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Junis pounded the zone with 34 of his 47 pitches going for a strike, but the Brewers clearly had a plan in place and went to the bullpen to begin the fifth inning. The right-hander missed out on the victory, but it was an encouraging first start of the season, which could earn him a longer leash in subsequent outings. Junis may only have a couple turns to stake his claim to the rotation with Wade Miley (shoulder) nearing a rehab assignment.

Junis (shoulder) is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Twins, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis threw four innings and 4.2 innings on March 10 and March 16, respectively, but he missed his last scheduled spring appearance due to a shoulder issue. It's quite possible Junis fails to log five-plus innings in this start. Junis had 10 strikeouts and a 1.22 WHIP in 10.2 innings this spring.

Junis didn't pitch as scheduled Friday due to a shoulder injury, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Pat Murphy said the team doesn't believe Junis' injury to be serious, but the Brewers will likely still take a closer look at Junis just to be safe. Junis has posted a 5.91 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 10.2 innings this spring, but his chances at making Milwaukee's Opening Day rotation increased significantly after the Brewers optioned Aaron Ashby to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Junis started and threw four scoreless innings in Sunday's exhibition contest. He did not allow a hit, hit a batter and posted a 3:2 K:BB in the contest.
EDGE Analysis
Junis was tagged for four earned runs over 2.0 innings in his spring debut, but the results were much better his second time out, even though only 33 of the 56 pitches he tossed were strikes. Junis will occupy a spot on Milwaukee's Opening Day roster after signing a one-year, $7 million contract with the team, and he is pushing to break camp in the starting rotation.

Junis signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Brewers on Monday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis has been used out of the bullpen for the majority of the last two seasons with San Francisco (four starts in 63 outings), but McDaniel notes that Milwaukee plans to see what he can do as a starting pitcher. He should have a good chance to claim a spot near the back end of the Brewers' rotation, especially following the departure of Corbin Burnes to the Orioles less than a week ago.
