Williams agreed to a minor-league deal with the Pirates, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams spent the 2017 season bouncing around the Pirates' Double- and Triple-A affiliates, and will return to the organization on a one-year deal for this upcoming year. During 30 games with Triple-A Indianapolis, he slashed an underwhelming .192/.257/.240 with one home runs and three RBI in 30 games. He will likely remain with the Indians in 2018, and doesn't provide any sort of upside for fantasy purposes.

Williams signed a minor league contract with the Rockies on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Williams spent most of 2015 in Double-A in the Giants organization, but he did get a short taste of the majors in September. Despite this, it'll be tough to crack the 25-man roster out of spring training with Nick Hundley, Tom Murphy, and Dustin Garneau in the way.

Williams started Wednesday's game, going 0-for-2 with a pair of walks and his first career stolen base in the loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Williams got the surprise start when Buster Posey was scratched with an ankle injury. Manager Bruce Bochy said that the injury wasn't serious, and that Posey simply needed a day to rest the nagging ankle. Williams could see an extra start or two down the stretch if the Giants elect to give their star catcher a few days of extra rest as the team slowly falls out of contention.

Williams' contract was purchased by the Giants on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams will join the Giants as the team's third catcher following the transfer of Andrew Susac to the 60-day disabled list. With a .228/.312/.279 with Double-A Richmond this season, the 29-year-old catcher doesn't figure to have much fantasy value.

Williams was traded to the Giants on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Williams came into camp competing for the backup catcher's job behind Chris Iannetta, but saw just three at-bats before being sent back to minor league camp. He will likely act as depth for the Giants.

Williams (knee) cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday. It's hardly surprising that no team was willing to take a chance on Williams, considering his .235/.307/.361 batting line in parts of five seasons at the Triple-A level. The Angels grabbed him off waivers from the Rockies in late October but seemingly just for organizational depth.

Williams (knee) was designated for assignment by the Angels on Thursday. After time with both Triple-A Colorado Springs and his major league debut with the Rockies in 2014, the Angels claimed Williams off waivers in October. He should be back in time for the 2015 season after undergoing knee surgery in September, but it appears he'll be starting out back in the minors.

Williams was claimed off waivers by the Angels. Williams underwent surgery in September to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, but he should be ready for the start of the 2015 season. The 28-year-old made the majors for the first time in his career in 2014, but he'll probably have to earn his way back there with the Angels in spring training.

Williams underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Williams, who suffered the injury Sept. 19, will miss the rest of this season as a result, but there's been nothing to suggest he may be in danger of missing the start of 2015. The 28-year-old logged 14 at-bats with the big club this year, and has hit just .235/.307/.361 in parts of five seasons at the Triple-A level.

Williams slugged his first career home run -- a three-run blast -- in Sunday's win over the Padres. In addition to his offensive exploits, Williams called an outstanding game behind the plate, leading starting pitcher Franklin Morales and a handful of relievers to the Rockies' second shutout of the series. Despite his excellent afternoon, Williams' at-bats could grow even scarcer over the final few weeks, after Wilin Rosario was activated from the 15-day DL over the weekend.
