Stanton was hit on the left hip by a pitch Saturday in the Marlins' first simulated game but was not injured, MLB.com reports. The $325 million slugger stepped out momentarily after the HBP but shook it off quickly. He was not hurt and was even joking about it afterward with Henderson Alvarez, who delivered the pitch. Stanton has been sporting a helmet fitted with a face guard so far in camp, a protective measure after he was hit by a Mike Fiers pitch in September and suffered multiple facial fractures. While Stanton admitted that he "can't get [the face guard] fully out of [his] vision," manager Mike Redmond said the 25-year-old has looked "totally comfortable" at the dish.
