Robertson struck out two in a perfect ninth inning to save the White Sox's 5-4 victory over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Perceptions can change quickly in baseball. Entering the Memorial Day weekend, Robertson hadn't had a save opportunity in nearly a month and converted just five saves -- last among front-line closers that have pitched all season -- but he saved a third straight game for the White Sox and bumped his season total up to eight. A closer that may have been regarded as having low value changed that perception over a holiday weekend. If pitching three straight days (30 pitches) make Robertson unavailable Tuesday, it's unclear which reliever manager Rick Renteria will call upon Tuesday if a closer is needed. Tommy Kahnle might be the first choice but he's pitched three of the last four days. After Kahnle, Anthony Swarzak is next in line.

They need to trade him to Washington. They could get a mint.
