Nationals re-signed 1B Adam LaRoche to a two-year, $24 million contract with a mutual option for 2015. LaRoche was hoping to score a three-year deal or better after hitting .271/.343/.510 with 33 home runs and 100 RBI in 2012 while earning Gold Glove Award honors for his defense at first base. But that kind of offer never came. He'll make $10 million in 2013 and $12 million in 2014, and his option for 2015 carries a $2 million buyout.
