Matz (0-1) took a beating from the Marlins, as he lost after allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
All the damage came in the second inning, as Matz managed the first inning around only a Christian Yelich infield single. But after a pair of walks to lead off the second inning, Matz gave up four singles and a Giancarlo Stanton home run before he was removed. Matz's bad inning leaves him with a ridiculous 37.80 ERA after two starts, and no matter how well he pitches for the next month or two, this one will leave a mark.

Let's see the kid's bounce back mettle. I think he will be fine, but he may be seeing Giancarlo Stanton in his dreams for a while LOL.
