Mat Latos (knee) will throw live batting practice on Friday. It will be the first time he's faced hitters since last month's surgery to repair a tear of the meniscus in his left knee. Latos was cleared for the live BP session after using all his pitches in an extended bullpen session on Tuesday. While he won't be ready for Opening Day, the Reds are hoping Latos can pitch the first time they need a fifth starter on April 6.
