Ryu (13-5) took the win against the Rockies on Sunday, hurling seven innings and giving up three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Both runs allowed by Ryu came on homers, but the southpaw otherwise stymied Colorado to pick up his second straight quality start and first victory in over a month. As has been the case most of the season, Ryu succeeded by controlling the strike zone, throwing 65 of 95 pitches for strikes and issuing no free passes for the second straight game. He also contributed with his bat, launching the first home run of his major-league career in the fifth inning. After a four-start stretch in which he surrendered 21 runs in 19 frames, Ryu has rebounded to allow just two runs over his last 14 innings. Though his Cy Young Award candidacy has taken a hit with his late-season slump, Ryu is likely to garner some votes as he leads the majors with a 2.41 ERA while ranking sixth with a 1.02 WHIP and second with a 1.23 BB/9. He'll wrap up his regular season with a road matchup against the Giants on Saturday.

Ryu's next start has been moved to Sunday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu was in line to pitch against the Rockies on Saturday, but he will instead be on the mound for the finale of the series Sunday. The switch means that Ryu will be pitching on seven days' rest and also sets him up to start Game 3 in the NLDS behind Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler.

Ryu struck out six batters in seven scoreless innings while allowing just two hits Saturday against the Mets. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu was stellar throughout his start, allowing nothing more than a pair of two-out singles, but Mets' starter (and fellow Cy Young candidate) Jacob deGrom matched him with seven scoreless frames of his own. The Mets would eventually get the win against the Dodgers' bullpen. The start was a very encouraging rebound for Ryu, who had failed to get out of the fifth inning in each of his last three starts.

Ryu will start Saturday's game against the Mets, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has convinced manager Dave Roberts that his recent struggles are more about mechanics than fatigue, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Ryu has a 9.95 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in 19 innings over his last four starts.

Ryu threw a bullpen session Tuesday but the date of his next start has yet to be determined, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu last pitched Sept. 4, giving up three runs in 4.1 innings. The Dodgers elected to skip his subsequent start in order to allow the southpaw time to rest in response to a recent rough stretch in which he has surrendered 21 runs over his last 19 frames. Though Ryu was expected to make his next scheduled start, manager Dave Roberts indicated Tuesday that the date of his return to the rotation is "not certain yet." The Dodgers have already wrapped up the National League West, so they have the luxury of giving the 32-year-old additional time off if warranted.

Ryu's next turn in the rotation will be skipped, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers have little reason to overwork Ryu down the stretch due to their 18-game division lead. The 161.2 innings he's thrown thus far this season are the most he's thrown since 2013 and are already nearly double his total from last season. He's expected to start three more times before the regular season ends. It's not yet clear who will make a spot start in his place.

Ryu gave up three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out five through 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Ryu didn't give up a run until the fourth inning, but he gave up two runs in the frame and allowed three straight singles to chase him from the game in the fifth inning. The 32-year-old has not made it through six innings in his last four outings. Ryu is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Ryu is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies in Los Angeles, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dave Roberts recently hinted that Ryu could be in line to have his turn through the rotation skipped at some point in September, but that won't happen for at least one more week. The All-Star southpaw has labored through his last three starts, giving up 18 earned runs on 25 hits and three walks across 14.2 frames to take the loss on each occasion. Ryu's recent form might not make him the must-start option he's been all season, but it's worth noting his last three turns came against three offenses (Braves, Yankees and Diamondbacks) that all rank in the top half of the majors in team wRC+. The Rockies, meanwhile, rank 26th with a 85 wRC+, offering some hope for a bounce-back effort from Ryu.

Manager Dave Roberts suggested after Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks that Ryu wouldn't have his next turn through the rotation skipped, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. "I see him making his next start. We're going to talk about it, but the plan is for him to make that start," Roberts said. "The last couple times, we've given him an extra day, so that's probably how we're going to go right now."
EDGE Analysis
The All-Star opened the outing versus Arizona by retiring nine of the first 10 batters he faced, but imploded thereafter, tying his season high with seven runs allowed before he was pulled midway through the fifth inning. After carrying a 1.45 ERA for the season through his first 22 outings, Ryu has now been charged with 18 runs allowed over his last three starts, surrendering five home runs over that stretch. Rather than giving Ryu some time off to guard against fatigue, Roberts has decided to maintain the Dodgers' six-man rotation, which will at least allow the southpaw to get an extra day of rest between starts. Ryu lines up to make his next turn Wednesday at home versus the Rockies.

Ryu (12-5) took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Thursday, giving up seven earned runs on 10 hits over 4.2 innings, striking out four and walking one as the Dodgers fell 11-5.
EDGE Analysis
That's now back to back starts in which the left-hander has been shelled for seven earned before making it out of the fifth inning, and he's now lost three straight decisions overall, giving up 18 earned runs over that stretch. He's in a rut at the moment, but Ryu's numbers still look excellent thanks to his torrid start to the season, as he's sporting a 2.35 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 137:20 K:BB across 157.1 innings.
