Rodriguez was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday. He saw some action with the Rangers in September, but with a significantly healthier club to start camp this upcoming season, Rodriguez's 40-man spot needed to be cleared.

Rodriguez came up big Monday, driving home the deciding run with a seventh-inning single. The September call-up recorded his first two hits of his career Monday night, including the seventh inning knock. The 31 year old infielder is 2-for-9 since being summoned from the minor leagues.

Rodriguez's contract was purchased by the Rangers on Sunday. Rodriguez will add depth to the Rangers' infield, and could see some opportunities to pinch hit as well as a spot start. It's also interesting that the move was made Sunday with Elvis Andrus out of the lineup, which could mean he is dealing with an injury, although there is nothing indicating that is the case.
