Blanco started in left field for the second-consecutive game Friday, going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and a stolen base in the win over the Reds. It appears that manager Bruce Bochy is giving his usual everyday left fielder, Nori Aoki, a couple days of rest, but Blanco has played well in his stead. This get even more crowded in San Francisco's outfield now that Hunter Pence is returning to the lineup Saturday, so it would be best to let the dust settle this weekend to see how playing time shakes up.

Blanco went 2-for-5 with a double and a run batting leadoff against the Rockies on Friday. This was Blanco's first start since April 18. His slow start (.239, no homers, one stolen base) has caused him to lose significant playing time to the hot-hitting Justin Maxwell. Manager Bruce Bochy already stated that Maxwell would start all three games this weekend pushing Blanco into a fourth outfielder role.

Blanco will start in left field and lead off Friday against the Rockies. Blanco will be afforded an opportunity atop the order against right-hander Eddie Butler, with Norichika Aoki sitting for the first time this season. While Blanco is just 8-for-39 (.205 average) against right-handed pitching thus far, he deserves some consideration in daily leagues.

Blanco is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports. Wednesday's absence will mark Blanco's third straight. His last two have come against lefties, but Blanco also sat against a right-hander on Sunday. That was mainly the result of Buster Posey moving out to first base and Brandon Belt to left, but Blanco, who's off to a 9-for-40 start, may find himself sitting in favor of Justin Maxwell more often if he doesn't start hitting with more consistency.

Blanco is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers. Blanco will sit for a second straight game, this time in favor of Justin Maxwell in right with left-hander Brett Anderson starting for Los Angeles. The 31-year-old Blanco has hit safely in five of his last six starts but is still sitting on a .225 average for the season.

Blanco is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, MLB.com's Chris Haft reports. Through the domino effect of Buster Posey getting a day off behind the plate, Blanco will be bounced from the lineup, as Posey handles first base while Brandon Belt covers left field. This sort of arrangement is only likely to occur on select occasions, so Blanco should still be in line for a full-time role with the Giants until Hunter Pence (forearm) returns to the lineup closer to the end of the month.

Blanco is out of the lineup Wednesday, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports. While Blanco is typically in the Giants' lineup, he is in there for defense, and not much else. So far he is batting .214 with zero homers and zero steals in 28 at-bats this season. Justin Maxwell will get a rare start in the outfield in Blanco's place Wednesday.

Blanco went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple in Sunday's loss to the Padres. Blanco has really struggled out of the gates, as Sunday's RBI was his first, and he has yet to steal a base this season. He should continue to see regular at-bats while Hunter Pence (forearm) is sidelined, but he needs to start contributing more to the offense otherwise he could lose playing time to the hotter-hitting Justin Maxwell.

Blanco is out of the Giants' lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports. The Diamondbacks are starting another right-hander in Jeremy Hellickson, but Hellickson had a dramatic reverse platoon split last season, with right-handed batters combining for a .356/.424/.542 line against him. With that in mind, manager Bruce Bochy will go with Justin Maxwell in right over the left-handed-swinging Blanco, who is 1-for-8 with a double so far this season.

Blanco started in right field for the Giants on Opening Day in a win over the Diamondbacks with Hunter Pence (forearm) on the 15-day DL. He went 0-for-4 from the plate with one strikeout. Pence is going to be out for a few more weeks, so it's possible that Blanco continues to see some starts in the outfield. In 146 games for the Giants last season, Blanco hit just .260 and recorded an OPS of .707.
