General manager Chris Getz said Wednesday that Taylor will likely work as a multi-inning reliever in 2026, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across 36.2 innings with the White Sox in 2025, although just five of his 36 big-league appearances lasted longer than one inning. It's possible Taylor's new role may be the next step in a plan to introduce him to the rotation down the line, but for now, the 23-year-old -- out of the rotation and unlikely to receive high-leverage work -- holds minimal fantasy value.

Taylor earned the save in Friday's 10-9 win over the Nationals, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor was tasked with protecting a one-run lead in the ninth inning and closed the door on 16 pitches. The 23-year-old has now strung together 10 straight scoreless outings, posting a sharp 16:3 K:BB in that span. For the season, he's recorded six saves and nine holds while carrying a 4.91 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 36.2 innings.

Taylor struck out two in a clean inning to pick up the save in Friday's 4-3 win versus the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
With this 12-pitch effort, Taylor notched his first save since Aug. 10 to make a mess out of the White Sox closer situation again. Jordan Leasure (three saves) and Mike Vasil (one save) had previously tallied the other four saves for the Chicago bullpen this month. Although Taylor pitched to a 9.31 ERA, 2.17 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB in five innings across seven appearances and nursed a groin injury since his last save, he apparently still has his manager's trust. Leasure, who pitched 1.2 scoreless frames in this contest after entering in the seventh, likely remains the favorite to garner future save chances for the White Sox, but it's apparent Vasil and Taylor will still see opportunities here and there.

Taylor (groin) will be available out of the bullpen for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor hasn't pitched since suffering a groin strain during Wednesday's game versus the Rays. After coming away from his bullpen session Monday without any issues, the White Sox have given him the green light to return to game action. The 23-year-old hasn't been extremely effective this year, however, accumulating a 5.68 ERA and 1.52 WHIP across 31.2 innings in the majors.

Scott Merkin of MLB.comTaylor (groin) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Monday, mmm reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor had to be removed from an outing last Wednesday due to a right groin strain and hasn't made an appearance since. The White Sox will see how the reliever rebounds Tuesday before determining when he might be available to pitch again.

Taylor was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rays with a right groin strain.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox turned to Taylor in a save situation Wednesday, but he had to come out of the game after throwing just seven pitches with decreased velocity. The White Sox will further evaluate him Thursday, at which point more details regarding the severity of his injury may be revealed. If he requires a stint on the IL, his absence could lead to more high-leverage work for Brandon Eisert or Steven Wilson going forward.

Taylor picked up the save in Sunday's 6-4 win against Cleveland, pitching a clean inning with one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The flamethrowing right-hander secured his first save since July 4 with this succinct, eight-pitch effort. Since that date, Taylor had been respectable in 9.2 frames across nine appearances with a 3.72 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB. Since July 4, the White Sox have notched only four saves as a team -- Jordan Leasure with two and Dan Altavilla and Steven Wilson with one apiece. The Chicago closer race is still wide open, and Taylor, who now owns a 3.91 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB over 23 total innings, remains one of the better high-leverage options for manager Will Venable.

Taylor will start Sunday's game against the Cubs, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sean Burke had previously been scheduled to start Sunday's series finale, but the White Sox announced late Saturday that Taylor will open the contest. It will be Taylor's second time as an opener this season, but he's not likely to pitch more than an inning or two, as he hasn't thrown more than two frames in any appearance this year. It's not yet clear if Burke was pulled from the start due to an injury or if he's simply going to pitch in bulk relief behind Taylor.

Taylor gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his third save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie right-hander is separating himself from the pack in the White Sox bullpen. Taylor has three of the team's last four saves, and the only exception came one day after he'd thrown 31 pitches over two innings against the Giants. His stuff warrants getting a chance to establish himself as a dominant late-inning arm, as he topped out at 101.3 mph with his fastball Friday while getting whiffs with both his slider and curveball. Through his first 12.1 big-league innings, Taylor has a 4.38 ERA, but he has yet to allow a homer and sports a much more impressive 0.97 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB.

Taylor (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing three runs on one hit and two walks over 1.1 innings. He struck out two
EDGE Analysis
Taylor entered in the eighth frame with a two-run lead and retired the side, but he returned for the ninth inning and fell apart. He allowed a single and back-to-back walks to load the bases with no outs, and then was pulled after Shohei Ohtani hit an RBI fielder's choice. Steven Wilson replaced Taylor but couldn't prevent two of the runners Taylor put on from scoring, resulting in the Dodgers' comeback win. Taylor has allowed six runs in 11.1 innings and has blown one of his three save chances, but the White Sox seem content to trot the highly-touted 23-year-old out there in high-leverage situations during a lost season.
