Soto was released by Chicago on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Soto never made an appearance with the White Sox during his time in the organization, and was let go after competing with Triple-A Charlotte since the start of the season. He had posted a 4.30 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with a 31:10 K:BB through 23 innings of work with the Knights. Soto will look to join his fifth organization in under a year after bouncing around the minor leagues the last few seasons. The 26-year-old has not thrown a pitch in the majors since he was on the Indians in 2015.

Soto was removed from the White Sox's 40-man roster Friday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander was optioned to Triple-A earlier in the spring, but the White Sox needed room on the 40-man roster in order to add Anthony Swarzak to the major-league relief corps. Despite the demotion, Soto did piece together a decent spring performance, so he could climb back to the big leagues later in the season if he performs well in the minor leagues.

Soto was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The dream of a Soto-Soto battery on the south side won't happen on Opening Day, but the 25-year-old southpaw still performed decently with his new ball club in his limited spring performances. Soto has had some success at the Triple-A level and does have 3.1 scoreless MLB innings to his credit, so a return to Chicago isn't out of the question if his performance in Charlotte warrants it.

Soto was claimed off waivers by the White Sox on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
He was claimed by the A's less than two weeks ago, so it's not a lock that he does not change teams once again before the start of the season. For now, Soto will provide left-handed bullpen depth on the Southside.

Soto was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Kyle Schwarber (knee) was activated from the 60-day DL in a corresponding move. An early-season trade acquisition, Soto posted a 5.14 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 33 appearances with Triple-A Iowa this season. He was left off the team's September roster.

Soto was traded to the Cubs on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soto pitched well between Triple-A and the majors last season in the Indians organization, putting together 3.1 scoreless innings with the big club during the 2015 campaign. This was good enough to pique the Cubs' interest, and now he'll take the slot of the injured Kyle Schwarber (knee, ankle) on the 40-man roster. In a consequential move, Soto was optioned to Triple-A Iowa and will slot into their bullpen until he's needed at the major league level.

Soto was designated for assignment by the Indians on Sunday, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old excelled in a relief role at Triple-A Columbus last season, churning out a 2.68 ERA and 51 strikeouts over 53.2 innings, but control problems have often stood in the way of his development. Soto is still young enough to resurface as a useful bullpen arm, but his removal from the 40-man roster certainly qualifies as a setback, as he'll now have no easy path to the majors as a minor-league call-up.

Soto was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Soto has not had a very good spring thus far, posting a 9.00 ERA through four innings pitched. The 24-year-old will start the year in Triple-A where he had a solid 2015 season, putting up a 2.68 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. There is a chance he receives a callup at some point in the upcoming season, but even if he did his fantasy value would still be questionable.

Indians prospect Giovanni Soto was hammered by the Reds in his spring debut on Friday, allowing five runs on three hits and a pair of walks in only 2/3 of an inning. The 21-year-old lefty was acquired by the Tribe in July of 2010 when Jhonny Peralta was dealt to the Tigers. He posted a 3.93 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 22 starts at Double-A Akron in 2012, while fanning 100 in 121 1/3 innings. He has an electric arm, but is still very raw and has to improve his command before he's a candidate to join the big league roster.
