Gio Gonzalez Close To Deal With Yankees rotoballer.com Mon 3/18/19 10:07 PM
The New York Yankees are close to inking free-agent starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez to a minor league deal, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. Gonzalez would be paid $3 million in base salary if he makes the major league roster and he could ask for his release if he's not added to the roster by April 20. The 33-year-old has plenty of experience in the big leagues and went 10-11 with a 4.21 ERA with the Nationals and Brewers last year. He pitched much better for the Brew Crew after being traded,[...]

Yankees Interested In Gio Gonzalez rotoballer.com Sat 3/16/19 11:31 AM
The New York Yankees maintain some level of interest in free-agent starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez considering their rotation questions with Luis Severino (shoulder) and CC Sabathia (heart, knee). However, the Yankees aren't close to signing Gonzalez. The Yanks also have Domingo German, Jonathan Loaisiga, Luis Cessa and Chance Adams that could help fill in for Severino and Sabathia to begin the year. Gonzalez has had an ERA over 4.00 in two of the last three years and would be an extremely shaky f[...]

In points leagues, this is a wise methodology, as an ace can serve as the backbone of a fantasy team. Seven different SPs tallied over 600 points in standard formats, whereas only six hitters reached that mark. Even Mike Trout failed to reach that level of production tha[...]

Patrick Corbin to Nationals - Fantasy Impact rotoballer.com Wed 12/5/18 9:45 AM
Starting pitcher Patrick Corbin was one of the top free agents on the market this winter, with his market dwindled down to the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Washington Nationals. On Tuesday, the Nationals got over the line with Corbin, inking a six-year/$140 million deal with the 29-year-old lefty. This was a mild shock in baseball circles, as the Phillies and Yankees were thought to be favorites for Corbin, but this gives [...]
Mets Discussing Gio Gonzalez rotoballer.com Tue 11/27/18 9:15 PM
The New York Mets have discussed free-agent starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez if they wind up trading Noah Syndergaard. Gonzalez owns a career 1.75 ERA at Citi Field, but the left-hander was a disappointment in 2018 between the Nationals and Brewers, going 10-11 with a 4.21 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 7.8 K/9 across 32 starts. He walked 4.2 batters per nine innings this year, and his high walk totals make him a risky mixed league starter. Gonzalez will turn 34 next September.
