The New York Yankees are close to inking free-agent starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez to a minor league deal, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. Gonzalez would be paid $3 million in base salary if he makes the major league roster and he could ask for his release if he's not added to the roster by April 20.
