Stanton (calf) completed a live batting practice session Wednesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the on-field activity amounts to a step forward for Stanton, the real test for his strained right calf will likely come Thursday, when he's expected to resume running outside. The 30-year-old slugger had been working out on an anti-gravity treadmill in recent days, so he'll now see if he can run the bases and cut in the outfield without issue. Stanton remains unlikely to be ready to go for Opening Day, but he may be tracking toward only a brief stint on the injured list.

Stanton (calf) will run on the field within the next two days, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton is working his way back from a Grade 1 calf strain he suffered in late February. It's unlikely that he makes it back before Opening Day, but he's been trending in the right direction. He's been able to run on a treadmill and hit off a tee in recent days.

Manager Aaron Boone said Stanton (calf) ran at approximately 85 percent effort on an anti-gravity treadmill Sunday and also hit in the batting cage, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton remains on track to begin the season on the injured list, but he at least looks to be in line for a shorter stint on the shelf than fellow slugging outfielder Aaron Judge (ribs), who won't even be ready to resume working out for another two weeks. The 30-year-old will build up to running on the treadmill at 100 percent speed and hitting outdoors before a more precise target date for his season debut comes into focus.

Stanton (calf) will resume throwing and hitting tee-and-toss Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He is also continuing to run on an anti-gravity treadmill in addition to resuming baseball activities. It's encouraging that Stanton is ramping up, but he is still doubtful to be ready for Opening Day.

Stanton (calf) has started running on an Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to manager Aaron Boone, Stanton got up to six miles per hour on the treadmill, toeing the line between a brisk jog and a light run. While the increased activity is a good sign that Stanton's right calf strain is improving, the slugger remains doubtful to be ready for Opening Day.

Stanton (calf) isn't expected to be ready to play by Opening Day, but he is expected to play at some point in April, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton suffered a Grade 1 right calf strain in late February. His readiness for Opening Day was in doubt from the start, but the injury wasn't considered likely to keep him out all that long. It appears that his prognosis hasn't meaningfully changed one week later, though it remains to be seen if "some point in April" is closer to the beginning or the end of the month.

Stanton's readiness for Opening Day is at risk after he was diagnosed with a Grade 1 right calf strain Wednesday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The slugger suffered the injury during a defensive workout Tuesday. He'll be shut down for a few weeks, and while he's expected to get back on the field before the end of spring training, he may not have time to be fully built up by the start of the regular season. The Yankees will understandably be cautious with Stanton after injuries limited him to just 18 games last season. He's averaged 116 games per season over his 10-year career.

Stanton said Wednesday that he reported to spring training without any physical limitations after a full offseason to recover from an injury-plagued 2019 campaign, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. "I had a lot of different training. I didn't have much time off," Stanton said. "I got my rest, but I had to rehab the moment the season was over, and then by the time I was done rehabbing I had my normal offseason training."
EDGE Analysis
Stanton appeared in just 23 games between the regular season and playoffs in 2019, missing time on account of biceps, shoulder, calf, knee and quadriceps injuries. His last appearance came in Game 6 of the ALCS against the Astros, when he suffered a Grade 2 right squad while running out a grounder. The 30-year-old had far from a spotless health record prior to 2019, but the fact that he's feeling good again could allow his ADP to climb steadily as draft season gets underway. Perhaps with an eye on ensuring that Stanton maintains better health this season, manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that the slugger's time in the outfield will be "fluid." The skipper went on to suggest that Stanton's workload could be similar to 2018, when he started 72 games in the outfield and served as a designated hitter in 86 contests.

Stanton had a Grade 2 quadriceps strain during the ALCS, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old missed several games during the ALCS with the strain in his right quad, while general manager Brian Cashman said that is was a Grade 2 variety that would have sent Stanton to the injured list in the regular season. The team wanted to keep Stanton available for the World Series if it was to advance, so the Yankees kept him on the active roster. The outfielder will likely need a few weeks before he's fully recovered, but he should have a normal offseason after he heals.

Stanton is not in the lineup for Game 6 of the ALCS against the Astros on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Stanton returned from a quadriceps injury to start Game 5 on Friday, but he didn't exactly prove his health, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Edwin Encarnacion returns as the designated hitter for Game 6.
