Midseason Review: Kyle Bishop's Bold Predictions rotoballer.com Thu 7/19/18 4:15 AM

In my first three seasons of writing this piece, I did well enough. Always a few clunkers, but generally nailing a couple and being in general vicinity on a couple more. 2018 has not been so kind. The spirit of the exercise is lighthearted even though it's tilted toward failure if you're being truly bold. Having said that, these are some wack-ass predictions. Please hold your laughter until the end of the program. Thank you.   At Least You Tried Bradley Zimmer and Manny Margot bo[...]

Giancarlo Stanton’s Hot July Continues Wednesday rotoballer.com Wed 7/11/18 6:36 PM

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton continued his great play in July with a 4-for-5 day on Wednesday. The Yankees went on to win against the Baltimore Orioles, 9-0, and Stanton provided four singles, two of them run-scoring. The outing raised his July batting average to .310. There will be some ugly strikeouts with Stanton — as with most sluggers — but the reigning National League MVP is a force to be reckoned with and should be started every week in most formats.

Statcast is a fun tool, at least if you love stats. If you didn't, you wouldn't be reading this, nor would you spend hours poring through the waiver wire or farm system reports in search of the next big thing to hit the majors. Only baseball brings that kind of unbridled passion for a past-time (sorry NFL folk, but it's true). [...]

The home run was his 17th of the season, moving within one of Aaron Judge for most on the club. An even more positive anecdote[...]
