In my first three seasons of writing this piece, I did well enough. Always a few clunkers, but generally nailing a couple and being in general vicinity on a couple more. 2018 has not been so kind. New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton continued his great play in July with a 4-for-5 day on Wednesday. The Yankees went on to win against the Baltimore Orioles, 9-0, and Stanton provided four singles, two of them run-scoring. The outing raised his July batting average to .310. There will be some ugly strikeouts with Stanton — as with most sluggers — but the reigning National League MVP is a force to be reckoned with and should be started every week in most formats.
