Cole (2-4) threw seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit with three walks while striking out 11 in an 11-0 victory against the Twins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Astros hitting has not given Cole a whole lot of support this season. They certainly did Tuesday, but the right-hander didn't need it. Cole was absolutely dominate, turning in his best outing of the young season. The one hit he allowed set a new season low, and his 11 strikeouts tied a season high. Cole is just 2-4 with a 3.95 ERA, but he's been excellent in the other major categories -- 1.04 WHIP, .190 batting average against and 65 strikeouts in 43.1 innings. His next outing is scheduled to be Monday at home against the Royals.

Cole (1-4) took the loss after surrendering two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out 10 over seven innings Thursday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Cole fell victim to the home-run ball, as he gave up a pair of solo blasts on the way to a 2-1 loss. The 28-year-old certainly pitched well enough to win, though Trevor Bauer simply outdueled the right-hander. While Cole was saddled with the loss, it was good to see him respond from a horrific outing Saturday against the Rangers, when he allowed nine runs (eight earned) over 4.1 innings. Cole will carry a 4.71 ERA with 54 punchouts over 36.1 frames heading into his next outing Tuesday against the Twins.

Cole, who is starting Thursday against the Indians, is confident he's cleaned up his mechanical indicators that led to the worst start of his career last week, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers teed off on Cole starting with a five-run first inning and chased him after 4.1 innings and nine runs allowed. Cole felt he was tipping his pitches and worked to clean up his mechanics between starts. "I obviously didn't ask (the Rangers) if they knew what was coming, but I had kind of a gut feeling, and some of the guys on our team kind of identified what they could potentially be seeing," he said. "I had changed my set position a little bit from last year and actually anticipated maybe a little bit of a an adjustment period, and unfortunately it all came crashing down in one game." While the start against Texas was a bad one, Cole was able to clean it up somewhat over the latter half of the outing.

Cole believes he may have been tipping his pitches during the first inning of Saturday's 9-4 loss to Texas, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cole allowed five first-inning runs on the way to his shortest outing (4.1 IP) since joining the Astros prior to the 2018 season. "I think they were maybe a little bit of a step ahead of me in terms of maybe being able to identify what pitch I was throwing," said Cole. "I made some adjustments throughout the game and that seemed to clean that up, and by the time I got to the fifth, I was dog tired and started to spray again." While watching video after the game, Cole said he could tell what pitches he was going to throw and assumes the Rangers knew it as well. The right-hander will attempt to clean it up before his next start Thursday at home against the Indians.

Cole (1-3) allowed nine runs (eight earned) on nine hits with eight strikeouts and three walks across 4.1 innings in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
While the eight strikeouts were great, Cole struggled in just about every other aspect during this start. He gave up five runs in the first, four of which were earned. He seemed to settle down in the second inning, but then gave up a solo homer in the third. The Rangers started another multi-run rally in the fifth, forcing Cole out of the game before he could complete five. Up until Saturday, Cole had strong numbers, but it just wasn't translating into wins. After this fiasco of a start, he is 1-3 with a 5.22 ERA and 1.19 WHIP during five starts. The good news he also has 44 strikeouts in 29.1 innings. Cole's next start is scheduled to be at home against the Indians on Thursday.

Cole (1-2) allowed two runs on four hits while striking out 11 over six innings in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Cole finally had his good pitching pay off in a win after the first three outings, all quality starts, left him 0-2. Entering Sunday's game, Cole received just four runs of support over 25 innings. Outside of a couple of mistakes, Cole was in complete command and induced 19 swing-and-misses. He's next scheduled to pitch Friday on the road against the Rangers.

Cole allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six across seven innings Tuesday against the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Cole settled in after allowing a first inning home run to Luke Voit. However, he was tagged for two more earned runs in the sixth inning after walking the first two batters of the inning, both of whom were ultimately doubled home by Gary Sanchez. While Cole is still searching for his first win of the season, he is providing strong ratios and has also racked up 25 strikeouts in 19 innings of work.

Cole took a tough loss while posting another quality start Wednesday. After striking out 10 in his first start, Cole was dominant with nine more strikeouts and 20 swinging strikes, including 12 on his fastball. Through 12 innings, the right-hander has a 3.00 ERA. Cole (0-1) took the loss after allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out 10 over six innings Friday against Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Cole was handed a two-run lead in the third inning but the Rays would respond with three runs of their own in the third followed by an insurance run in the sixth. The 28-year-old pounded the zone in his season debut, firing 71 of 101 pitches for strikes. Cole will search for his first victory of 2019 in his next outing Wednesday against Texas.

Cole allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings Sunday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Cole was his usual stingy self this spring, holding opponents to a .179 batting average and posting a 2.81 ERA over five starts (16.1 innings). His next outing will be the second game of the season, Friday against Tampa Bay.
