Cole (4-1) took the loss in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader in Atlanta after surrendering five runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and two walks over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Leadoff man Ronald Acuna hit a 473-blast on Cole's sixth pitch of the game, and things didn't improve much the rest of the afternoon. Cole has a 3.51 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 53:8 K:BB over 41 innings, and he'll look to get back in the win column Monday versus Tampa Bay.

Cole won't start as scheduled Tuesday in Atlanta since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees didn't play all weekend due to the Mets producing a couple positive tests for COVID-19, and their return to play Tuesday has now been pushed back by weather. The Braves and Yankees will play a traditional doubleheader Wednesday, and Cole will take the mound for the matinee, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Cole allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out 10 across 6.2 innings Wednesday against the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Cole surrendered a pair of solo home runs, but looked dominant otherwise. He racked up 22 called strikes and 19 swinging strikes on 109 total pitches, allowing him to rack up double-digit punchouts for the second time this season. Cole now owns a 2.75 ERA with a 44:6 K:BB ratio across 36 innings. He's penciled in to draw his next start Tuesday at Atlanta.

Cole (4-0) allowed one run on four hits and no walks while striking out eight over seven innings as he earned the win Friday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
In his first start since a short outing against the Rays, Cole returned to the win column by stifling Boston's offense. His performance at home against the Red Sox was his most productive since he signed a monster deal with the Yankees during the offseason. In five starts this season, the right-hander carries a 2.76 ERA and 0.85 WHIP over 29.1 innings. He'll look to continue his dominant run at home Wednesday against the Rays.

Cole noted after Saturday's outing that he made a change to his delivery, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. "I made a little tweak with my delivery, staying over my legs a little better," Cole said. "I thought that increased a little bit of the deception and allowed me to get through the baseball at the end, really starting to nail my spin axis. At times, it's been a little inconsistent. Today we were really repeating for the most part until a few pitches towards the end."
EDGE Analysis
If deception was the goal, Cole's mechanical adjustment certainly paid off -- the right-hander whiffed 10 batters in 4.2 frames after averaging less than a strikeout per inning through his first three starts. The outcome wasn't all positive, however, as Cole allowed a season-high six hits and gave up three runs. The 29-year-old holds a 3.22 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 26:5 K:BB in 22.1 innings this season.

Cole struck out 10 batters and walked just one in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Rays but allowed three runs on six hits in 4.2 innings and therefore wasn't eligible to pick up the win.
EDGE Analysis
Cole cruised through the first four innings before running into trouble in the fifth, allowing an RBI double to Ji-Man Choi before giving up a two-run homer to Jose Martinez. He has a strong 29.5 percent strikeout rate through his first four starts this season, though that's over 10 percentage points below his incredible 39.9 percent mark from last season. His 3.22 ERA is also quite difficult to complain about, though it's well above his 2.50 mark from 2019.

Cole (3-0) gave up one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out four in six innings Monday against the Phillies. He picked up the win.
EDGE Analysis
There was a lengthy rain delay after Cole had finished six innings, and he did not get sent out for the seventh. He threw 91 pitches and 58 for strikes. Cole didn't have his best command in this one, but he was still in control throughout. His next start will come this weekend against the Rays.

Cole may still make his scheduled start Monday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Monday's game against Philadelphia was initially slated to be postponed, but the decision was reportedly reversed Saturday. With so much uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, whether the game will be played as scheduled remains to be seen. If the two teams are able to suit up Monday, Cole should be in line to take the mound for the Yankees, although no official announcement has been made.

Cole won't make his scheduled start Monday after the game against the Phillies was postponed, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cole was in line to face the Orioles on Monday before the schedule was changed so the team played the Phillies instead. However, the Yankees won't play at all Monday after the series opener against the Phillies was postponed as a precautionary measure amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The teams are still scheduled to play the following three days, so Cole could make a start early next week instead, but no announcement has been made about the Yankees' rotation to begin the week.

Cole (2-0) earned the win against Baltimore on Wednesday, completing 6.2 innings and allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Cole's final stat line may look moderately underwhelming considering the opponent, but he breezed through his first six innings allowing only one hit -- a first inning run-scoring double off the bat of Jose Iglesias -- before tiring in the seventh. He was lifted following his 102nd pitch after allowing three straight extra-base hits, including a two-run home run to Dwight Smith. Cole will face the Orioles again -- this time on the road -- in his next scheduled start Monday.
