Kirby didn't factor into the decision during Monday's 4-3 loss in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series against the Blue Jays, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out three over four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Kirby was tagged for a run in the bottom of the first inning after issuing a leadoff walk, followed by a pair of singles. However, he was able to escape the jam without suffering further damage and exited the matchup with a lead. The Mariners would later surrender a two-run lead in the seventh, bringing the right-hander's postseason run to an end. Kirby responded nicely from a disastrous outing in Game 3, when he surrendered eight runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four in four-plus frames.

Kirby took the loss in Game 3 of the ALCS against the Blue Jays on Wednesday after allowing eight earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four batters over four-plus innings.
EDGE Analysis
Kirby made it through the first two frames unscathed, but things quickly turned sour for the 27-year-old once he gave up a leadoff double to Ernie Clement in the third, followed by a game-tying two-run blast from Andres Gimenez. Kirby allowed three more runs to score before the end of the inning, and additional solo shots from George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero would contribute to the right-hander's early exit from the game. Now sporting a 7.07 ERA through 14 innings in the postseason, Kirby would likely get the call to start Game 7 if the two sides take the series that far.

Kirby didn't factor into the decision in Game 5 of the ALDS versus Detroit on Friday, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out six batters over five-plus innings. He did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Kerry Carpenter managed two singles against Kirby, but the rest of Detroit's offense was unable to find any success against the 27-year-old righty through the first five innings. Kirby came back out to start the sixth but was immediately pulled after giving up a leadoff double to Javier Baez, who scored on a home run from Carpenter during the ensuing at-bat. Because the Mariners were able to prevail over the Tigers after a 15-inning marathon, Kirby will have the ability to make at least one more appearance in the postseason -- likely in Game 3 or 4 of the ALCS against Toronto.

Kirby will start Game 5 of the ALDS on Friday against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Both Kirby and Luis Castillo would have been available to pitch on at least regular rest, but the Mariners will opt for Kirby in the elimination game. He threw five innings in Game 1 of the series, allowing two earned runs while striking out eight across five innings.

Kirby did not factor into the decision in Saturday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers in Game 1 of the ALDS. He allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out eight over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Kirby was cruising and appeared to have some of his best command all season, but Kerry Carpenter turned a one-run Detroit deficit into a one-run Tigers lead with his home run with two outs in the fifth inning. The 27-year-old Kirby induced 16 swinging strikes on 94 pitches, continuing an impressive run of dominance from September (31 strikeouts in his final 17.1 regular-season innings). He's not assured of another start this postseason, but Kirby lines up to toe the rubber at home next Friday in Game 5.

Kirby (10-8) took the loss Friday, giving up two runs on three hits and one walk over five innings as the Mariners fell 3-2 to the Dodgers. He struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
It's the second time in his last three starts that Kirby has fanned double-digit batters, but he didn't get enough run support in a potential World Series preview to extend his winning streak to three. The right-hander has been prone to the occasional meltdown in the second half of the season, getting tagged for seven earned runs twice in his last 12 outings, but he didn't allowed more than three runs in any of the other 10 starts, giving Kirby a 3.82 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 78:16 K:BB over his last 66 innings heading into the postseason.

Kirby (10-7) earned the win Saturday at Houston, pitching six scoreless innings while allowing five hits and no walks. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The Seattle right-hander reached double figures in wins for the third consecutive season with this 100-pitch effort. The Astros never came close to sniffing a run against Kirby, who didn't allow an extra-base hit and tallied his 12th quality start of the season. Through 121 total frames, the 27-year-old now sports a 4.24 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 127:28 K:BB. Kirby tentatively projects to make his final start of the season at home against the vaunted Dodgers next weekend.

Kirby (9-7) allowed two runs on three hits and struck out 14 without walking a batter over 6.1 innings to earn the win Sunday over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Kirby had allowed 11 runs (10 earned) over six innings across his first two starts of September. He tied his career high for strikeouts in a game with this dominant performance. While Kirby has largely had mixed results all year, he's had the Angels' number in all three of his starts against them in 2025, allowing just six runs while posting a 37:3 K:BB over 19.2 innings. Overall, he's at a 4.46 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 120:28 K:BB through 115 innings across 21 starts. His next start is projected to be on the road versus Houston.

Kirby took a no-decision Tuesday against the Cardinals, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
After being tagged for seven runs his last time out, Kirby was unable to steady the ship Tuesday. The right-hander has failed to fire at least five frames in three of his past five outings, although he does have seven quality starts under his belt since the All-Star break. Kirby has a 4.56 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, which are on pace to be career-worst figures, to go with a more encouraging 106:28 K:BB over 108.2 innings, and he'll be trying to get back on track this weekend against the division-rival Angels.

Kirby (8-7) was handed the loss against the Rays on Wednesday, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits with one strikeout across two innings.
EDGE Analysis
Kirby endured the roughest outing of his career, failing to work into the third frame for the first time in his 108 MLB starts. The appearance went down as the shortest of his four-year tenure and matched the second-highest run total he's ever allowed in a game. Kirby was peppered for 10 hits by the 17 batters he faced, consisting of eight singles and two doubles, though none left the yard. It was an uncharacteristic barrage of hard contact for the typically steady starter, who will try to put this outing behind him as he heads into his next scheduled turn against St. Louis with a 4.47 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 104:26 K:BB across 104.2 innings.
