Richards (0-1) suffered a loss Tuesday against the Astros despite allowing just a single run on four hits over five innings. He struck out four without a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Thanks to Richards' persistent injury issues, this marks his first decision of any sort since he beat the Royals back on April 25, 2016. The loss is unfortunate, but Richards notably lasted much longer in this game than he did in his first start off the DL (3.1 innings), and he's looked effective both times out. As long as his arm holds up, Richards could offer fantasy owners a few more effective starts down the stretch.

Richards (biceps) didn't factor into the decision in his return from the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, holding Oakland to one run on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts in 3.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Richards was limited to 52 pitches for precautionary reasons following an extended layoff. A 15-game winner in 2015, the righty could have some late-season value once he works his way back up to a full workload. He should take another step in that direction next Tuesday against the Astros.

Richards (biceps) was activated from the 60-day disabled list Tuesday prior to his start against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Richards is set to come off the DL to make his first big-league start since Apr. 5. The 29-year-old hurler will be held to a conservative pitch count, so he doesn't garner much fantasy intrigue for Tuesday's tilt against the A's.

Richards (biceps) will start Tuesday against the A's, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander gave up five hits in two innings with Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, but he flashed his normal high-90s velocity and now has a set date for his return. Richards only threw 40 pitches Wednesday and he didn't build on that number in his latest side session, so it seems likely that he will be limited to only three or four innings in his first big-league start since April 5.

Richards (biceps) is preparing to start either Monday or Tuesday in Oakland, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
He threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Saturday and says he's ready to return. We will await word of the Angels' rotation plans, but if he returns Monday, he would be in line for two starts next week, so it would be smart to scoop him up now in many formats. He has pitched like a frontline starter when healthy over the past two seasons, although that has only been for a total of seven starts, due to arm injuries.

Richards (biceps) is expected to be activated from the disabled list over the weekend, Pedro Moura of The Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Moura, Richards' rehab outing Wednesday was impressive as he topped out at 98 miles per hour on his fastball in a two-inning appearance. With that, the Angels are confident that he'll be ready to return to the rotation in the coming days, with Monday being the target for his first start back. Richards return will be a major boon to the Angels' rotation as they push for a wild card spot.

Richards (biceps) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was able to complete another simulated game Friday, and apparently everything went off without a hitch, as his next outing will be a three-inning rehab start. Wednesday's rehab appearance will mark Richards' first game action since injuring his biceps during his first start of the season. Seeing as he's been sidelined for most of the season, Richards will likely need a few rehab appearances before returning to the big-league rotation.

Richards (biceps) pitched "very well" in Friday's simulated game at the Angels' spring training complex in Arizona, Elliot Teaford of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richards threw the equivalent of three innings after turning in a similar workload in his previous simulated outing Monday. Manager Mike Scioscia said that his starter could make his next rehab appearance with Triple-A Salt Lake, but he wouldn't commit to potential date. The Bees' regular season ends Sept. 4, so the Angels will have to make a decision soon regarding whether or not Richards is ready to take the next step in his long journey back to the majors. The 29-year-old has missed the majority of the 2017 season after injuring his biceps on Apr. 5.

Richards was feeling good after a simulated game Monday and will try to get up to 40-45 pitches in another simulated game Friday to determine the next step in his rehab, The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richards has been limited to just one start all year by the biceps injury. At this point, the Angels are just hoping to get him back this season. Considering the minor league season ends in early September, though, Richards probably won't have a real chance at a lengthy rehab assignment with another setback, so his season may be over if he doesn't feel well after Friday's session.

Manager Mike Scioscia said Richards (biceps) is scheduled to face live hitters sometime this week, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
After working through a couple of bullpen sessions, Richards is now ready to face hitters for the first time since landing on the shelf back in April. If all goes well, he should be cleared to head out on a rehab assignment shortly after, putting his estimated return date around the end of August or beginning of September.
