Crochet (3-4) yielded five hits over six shutout frames Friday, striking out 11 and earning a win over the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Crochet carved through Cleveland's lineup with ease Friday, setting new career bests with 11 strikeouts and 21 whiffs. He seems to be fully back on track after struggling during the middle of April. He gave up 17 runs over an ugly three-start stretch but has allowed just three runs while registering a 24:1 K:BB over his last three outings. Crochet lowered his season ERA to 4.63 with an outstanding 64:9 K:BB through 46.2 frames. He's currently in line for a home matchup with the Nationals next week.

Crochet (2-4) earned the win after he pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six batters in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Crochet was able to make it back-to-back strong outings Sunday, limiting the Cardinals to just one run on a fourth-inning solo home run by Willson Contreras. The left-hander secured his first quality start since April 3 in the win and he has now allowed just three runs over 11 innings in his last two outings. Crochet will carry a 5.31 ERA and 11.7 K/9 into his next projected start Friday at home versus the Guardians.

Crochet didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk across five innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
After surrendering five or more runs in three straight starts, Crochet snapped out of the funk and only allowed the Twins to score on a two-run homer by Carlos Santana in the second frame. Crochet also had strong command, walking just one batter after yielding seven walks and two hit-by-pitches in his last three outings. Although Crochet has been inconsistent to kick off 2024, his strikeout stuff has been elite, boasting the second most K's in baseball. He's lined up for a Saturday start against the Cardinals.

Crochet (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings against the Twins. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Crochet surrendered at least five runs for a third straight start, each of which lasted less than five innings and resulted in a loss for Crochet. After an impressive start to the season (four earned runs over 18.0 innings), Crochet has been equally unimpressive in his last three appearances, yielding 17 earned runs over 11.2 innings. Overall, Crochet owns a 6.37 ERA and 40:8 K:BB in six starts, and he's lined up for a rematch with the Twins on Monday.

Crochet (1-3) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing seven runs on five hits and two walks across three innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Crochet was done in by the home-run ball Friday -- he allowed a pair of three-run homers to Alec Bohm before Whit Merrifield led off the fourth with a solo shot, forcing Crochet out of the game. After an excellent start this year, the 24-year-old lefthander has now allowed 12 runs over 7.2 innings in his last two outings. Crochet's ERA is up to 5.61 despite an excellent 1.01 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB across five starts (25.2 innings). He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Minnesota.

Crochet (1-2) took the loss to the Reds on Saturday, allowing five runs on four hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Crochet was close to getting out of the second inning with only a couple earned runs allowed, but he had a few borderline calls go against him with two outs, and Spencer Steer cashed in with a three-run double. It was still an impressive performance in terms of whiffs, and through four career starts Crochet has a 3.57 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 31:4 K:BB in 22.2 innings. His transition to the starting rotation has gone about as well as anyone could have hoped for to date, but the team context is a mark against him and his schedule doesn't get any easier in the short term with a trip to Philadelphia on tap for next week.

Crochet allowed two runs on three hits while striking out five over five innings Sunday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Crochet continued his excellent stretch to begin the season, generating 15 whiffs while not walking a batter for the second time in three starts. The lone damage against him came off a fifth-inning two-run homer off the bat of Hunter Renfroe. Crochet currently leads the majors with 21 strikeouts and 18 innings pitched. He's found something with his slider with seven of his 15 whiffs Sunday coming from that pitch. The 25-year-old lefty will look to keep things going in a home meeting with the Reds this upcoming week.

Crochet (1-1) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over seven innings in a 3-2 victory over Atlanta. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
That's now back-to-back quality starts and back-to-back eight-strikeout performances for Crochet, as the left-hander makes the White Sox look like geniuses for moving him into the rotation. He blanked one of the most potent offenses in baseball for six innings before Marcell Ozuna finally tagged him for a solo shot in the seventh. Crochet left the mound having generated 18 swinging strikes on his 93 pitches, and through his first two career starts he sports a 1.38 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB through 13 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next trip to the mound this weekend in Kansas City.

Crochet (0-1) went six innings, allowing one run on five hits and did not walk a batter to earn the defeat in Thursday's Opening Day 1-0 loss to the Tigers. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
It was an impressive performance for Crochet, who earned the Opening Day nod despite having never made a start in his previous 72 big league outings. The lefty struck out eight while going toe-to-toe with Kansas City's Tarik Skubal, who also tossed six innings but didn't yield a single run. Crochet is set for a tougher matchup his next time out, currently slated to take place mid-week against Atlanta in the friendly confines of Guaranteed Rate Field.

The White Sox announced Monday that Crochet will start the team's season opener March 28 versus the Tigers in Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
A converted reliever who has yet to make a big-league start and is just under two years removed from Tommy John surgery, Crochet is a bold choice for the Opening Day starting nod. The White Sox's decision to go with Crochet for the season opener speaks to the organization's lack of attractive alternatives, though the 24-year-old lefty at least brings some upside to the table. After struggling with his control late last season when he rejoined the White Sox bullpen following his recovery from elbow surgery, Crochet has looked far sharper this spring, striking out 12 and walking none while working around seven hits across nine scoreless frames. Fantasy managers shouldn't jump to any grand conclusions based on the spring numbers, but the improved results along with the White Sox's commitment to him in a starting role are enough to put Crochet on the radar as a late-round target in fantasy drafts.
