Arias (personal) was reinstated from the family medical emergency list and will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's series opener in Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
Cleveland sent infielder Angel Martinez back to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the 26-man active roster for Arias, who rejoins the big club after missing the previous three games while tending to a personal matter. Though he'll immediately enter the lineup in his return to the Guardians as the Orioles send southpaw Cade Povich to the mound, the righty-hitting Arias is expected to serve as a bench player against right-handed pitching more often than not.

The Guardians placed Arias on the family medical emergency list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
By rule, Arias will be away from the club for the next 3-to-7 days. Angel Martinez will take his spot on the Guardians' roster.

Arias went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Arias saw a run of playing time in late May and early June, but he's slipped back into a utility role over the last week. The infielder has gone a modest 6-for-28 (.214) over his last 10 contests, though he's recorded three extra-base hits in that span. Arias is slashing .215/.250/.339 with two homers, four stolen bases, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored, seven doubles and a triple over 128 plate appearances this season.

Arias will start at third base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Arias will stick in the lineup for a fifth consecutive game, this time filling in at third base while Jose Ramirez gets a day out of the field and serves as Cleveland's designated hitter. In addition to the hot corner, Arias picked up starts at second base, shortstop and in right field over the previous four games. The Guardians faced left-handed starters in three of those contests, and though Arias should be a fixture in the lineup versus lefties, he'll likely serve as more of a part-time player when Cleveland opposes righties.

Arias went 2-for-5 with a double, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 10-4 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Arias had gone 5-for-34 (.147) over his first 14 games in May, so it's no surprise his playing time has been sparse lately. His last multi-hit effort was April 20. The 24-year-old is sporting a poor .224/.248/.337 slash line with one home run, four steals, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, six doubles and a triple over 101 plate appearances in a utility role.

Arias went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Arias' last four starts have been evenly split between second and third, providing opportunities for Jose Ramirez and Andres Gimenez to get rest. Arias is off to a solid start this season in a utility role, slashing .278/.304/.426 with three steals, one home run, eight RBI and seven runs scored across 56 plate appearances. He's already played at six different positions this season, so he should be able to be in the lineup semi-regularly despite lacking a single obvious path to playing time.

Arias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Arias made six consecutive starts from April 13 through 18, but he's now been back on the bench three times in the Guardians' ensuing five games. Though Arias is maintaining a respectable .781 OPS over 48 plate appearances on the season, he looks like he'll have to settle for a part-time role for now while Cleveland continues to stick with Brayan Rocchio as its primary shortstop.

Arias will start in center field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After making just four starts in the Guardians' first 13 games, Arias now finds himself in the lineup for a fifth straight contest. Though he doesn't have a direct path to a starting role at any one spot while the Guardians are seemingly committed to Brayan Rocchio as their primary shortstop, Arias has made it tough for manager Stephen Vogt to take him out of the lineup while he's wielding a hot bat. Over his last four games, Arias has gone 8-for-16 with five extra-base hits (three doubles, one triple and one home run) and one walk.

Arias went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, one RBI and one run scored in Monday's 6-0 win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Arias came up a home run short of a cycle, but it was still another excellent game for the utility man. He's gone 6-for-10 over his last three contests, with four of those hits going for extra bases. Monday's strong performance lifted his batting average to .308, and he's added a stolen base, five RBI and five runs scored through 27 plate appearances. Arias doesn't have a path to everyday at-bats yet, but he's putting the pressure on Brayan Rocchio, as shortstop has been the weak spot in the Guardians' infield so far.

Arias went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Arias' playing time has been limited this season as he serves in a utility role off the bench. He got a start at shortstop Sunday and delivered with his first homer and second extra-base hit of the season. The 24-year-old also made defensive shifts to first base and right field during the contest. He's hitting just .227 with four RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base over 23 plate appearances. With Brayan Rocchio batting .217 so far, there could be a chance for Arias to avenge his position battle loss from spring training as the regular season progresses.
