The Mariners recalled Speier from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

With Emerson Hancock heading down to Triple-A, Speier will return to the active roster, at least until the club makes room for Luis Castillo's (hamstring) return from the 15-day injured list. The Mariners optioned Speier to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
