Rays sent DH Freddy Guzman outright to Triple-A Durham. Guzman appeared in one game for the Rays this year, stealing a base and scoring a run after a September call-up. He'll become a minor league free agent five days after the World Series ends. The 32-year-old will look to catch on with another team.

Rays purchased the contract of OF Freddy Guzman from Triple-A Durham. Guzman has spent the last three years in the Mexican League and didn't play at all in 2010. He'll be used strictly as a pinch-runner during the final weeks.
