Liriano (hamstring) will throw a simulated game early next week, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
If everything goes off without a hitch during his simulated outing next week, Liriano will be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment. He's expected to make at least one rehab start before rejoining the Tigers. Liriano has been sidelined since May 29 with a hamstring strain.

Liriano (hamstring) will likely need to make a minor-league rehab start before rejoining the Tigers, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Liriano threw a bullpen session Monday and said he would be ready to return from the DL when first eligible Tuesday, but manager Ron Gardenhire seemed less enthusiastic about bringing the southpaw back so soon. "We've had conversations about sending him out for a rehab, maybe three or four innings, so he can move around and cover first and see some live action," Gardenhire said. "It's always dangerous when you take a guy with a hamstring and put him back out there without getting him in game situations first where the adrenaline is flowing." Liriano, who has been on the disabled list since May 29 with a hamstring strain, owns a 3.90 ERA and 45:29 K:BB across 10 starts (57.2 innings) this season.

Liriano was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear as to when Liriano's injury cropped up, but he'll require a stay on the disabled list nonetheless. The Tigers haven't revealed the severity of the strain yet, so it's difficult to determine how long he'll be sidelined for. Ryan Carpenter was recalled from Triple-A Toledo and will presumably fill Liriano's spot in the rotation for the time being.

Liriano pitched eight scoreless innings but took a no-decision in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners. He gave up just one hit and three walks while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Liriano was dialed in Sunday, as this was his longest outing of the season and the first time he's allowed zero runs. The one hit allowed was also a season low. However, the veteran saw a win slip away when Shane Greene allowed two runs in the ninth inning to blow a save. Regardless, this was a good sign for Liriano, who had failed to get past the fifth inning in his previous two starts. He'll now carry a 3.42 ERA into his next start, which is scheduled for Saturday against the White Sox.

Liriano did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's win over the Indians, as he lasted just 4.1 innings while allowing five earned runs on seven hits and three walks. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
For the second straight start, Liriano didn't escape the fourth inning, and walks have been a big part of the issue. He now has seven over his last 8.1 innings. The veteran lefty has never been known for great control, but he'll need to cut down on the walks to go deeper into games moving forward. Liriano will now carry a 4.03 ERA into his next scheduled start Sunday in Seattle.

Liriano didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Rangers, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks over four innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran threw only 41 of 81 pitches for strikes before getting the hook, and Liriano has now walked multiple batters in all seven of his starts this season. His 3.35 ERA is respectable, but his 29:20 K:BB in 40.1 innings suggests he's been more lucky than good. He'll next take the mound Tuesday at home against Cleveland.

Liriano allowed one run on three hits in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday, striking out five and walking two in seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Liriano shut down the Royals through seven, and entered the eighth with a two-run lead. He was relieved after walking Cheslor Cuthbert, and the Tigers' bullpen proceeded to cough up the lead. This was Liriano's fourth quality start in six starts, and he's brought his ERA down to 2.97. The southpaw is holding opponents to a .187 batting average while sporting a 26:16 K:BB in 36.1 innings. Next up for Liriano will be a matchup with the Rangers in Texas.

Liriano gave up three runs on two hits and four walks over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Although he gave up just two hits, Liriano's four walks hindered what could have been a great start. The 34-year-old opened the game by throwing five shutout innings. However, he gave up a solo home run to Whit Merrifield in the sixth, then proceeded to allow two more baserunners before being pulled from the game. Both of those runners wound up scoring on a grand slam delivered by Abraham Almonte. Liriano will next take the mound Saturday against the Orioles.

Liriano (2-1) picked up the win Tuesday against the Orioles, allowing two runs over five innings of work. He gave up five hits and three walks while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran lefty has looked good through his first three starts with Detroit, posting a strong 2.55 ERA to go with the two wins. The seven strikeouts Tuesday are also a new season high. It's hard to get too invested in Liriano after his struggles the past two seasons, but for now, he's looking like a viable streaming option at least. He's slated to take the mound again Sunday against the Royals and could be in for another good outing, as Kansas City is averaging just 2.8 runs per game.

Liriano will start Tuesday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Liriano's Sunday start against the Yankees was postponed, so he'll now take the mound during the Tigers' next game Tuesday. All other starters in the rotation have been pushed back a day, as well.
