Everett Teaford tossed three shutout innings Tuesday against the Reds, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out four. He's now been unscored up on in five innings this spring. Teaford is being stretched out this spring, and although he's a longshot in the competition for a rotation spot, he can at least put his name in the conversation if strings together a few more nice outings.

Royals manager Ned Yost said Tuesday that Everett Teaford will make two more starts this season. Teaford tossed five scoreless innings against the Mariners on Sunday in his first major league start. He is scheduled to face the White Sox on Saturday and again on September 24 to finish out his rookie season The 27-year-old left-hander has logged 68 innings this season between the majors and minors.
