Carter said last week that one of his goals this season is to steal 30 bases, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter is 19-for-21 on stolen-base attempts in 131 career games, and he ranked in the 90th percentile in sprint speed in 2025. The outfielder believes new first-base coach Travis Jankowski -- who stole 104 bases in his career -- will be able to help him get the most out of his speed on the bases. Injuries have been Carter's biggest downfall, as he's played only 108 games with the big club over the last two seasons. However, he's fully recovered from the fractured wrist that ended his 2025 season and said that "I actually feel really good right now" after merely "kind of telling myself that I feel good in the past." Carter remains a major injury risk in 2026 -- particularly since his back issues have been chronic -- and the left-handed hitter is unlikely to play much versus southpaws. There's still some breakout potential with the 23-year-old, though, and he only costs a late-round flier in fantasy leagues.

The Rangers transferred Carter (wrist) to the 60-day injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Dylan Moore, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Round Rock by the Rangers following the placement of Corey Seager (abdomen) on the 10-day IL. Carter is recovering from a right wrist injury that will keep him sidelined for the rest of the 2025 campaign, but he could be ready for the start of spring training.

The Rangers will transfer Carter (wrist) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A fractured right wrist forced Carter onto the injured list last Friday, and his impending move to the 60-day IL will put an early end to his regular season. The 22-year-old will finish 2025 with a .247/.336/.392 slash line alongside five homers, 25 RBI, 31 runs scored and 14 steals over 63 games. His 40-man spot will be filled by Dylan Moore, who will join the active roster Friday to replace Corey Seager (appendectomy).

The Rangers placed Carter (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Texas makes Carter's move official after manager Bruce Bochy revealed Friday morning that Carter could be out for the season with a fractured right wrist. The 22-year-old's spot on the active roster will go to Michael Helman. Wyatt Langford should see more action in center field while Carter is out, while Alejandro Osuna could see a bump in playing time in left.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that further evaluation revealed Carter (wrist) sustained a fracture when he was hit by a pitch Thursday, and he could be out for the remainder of the season, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Bochy didn't offer any more specifics, Carter appears to be headed toward a lengthy stint on the injured list and could be out for the remainder of the 2025 campaign. The center fielder had started seven of Texas's last eight games, and a prolonged absence will mean Wyatt Langford slides back over to center, and more playing time in left field for Alejandro Osuna.

Carter was removed from Thursday's game versus the Royals in the eighth inning after being hit in the right wrist by a pitch, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter was struck by a Daniel Lynch offering in the seventh inning. He remained in the game initially before eventually being lifted an inning later. Carter is likely set to undergo X-rays, and an update on his condition should be forthcoming. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base before exiting.

Carter went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 10-4 win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Carter put the finishing touch on the victory with a two-run homer in the ninth inning. It was his fifth in 59 games this season. Carter's hit safely in all four appearances since returning from the injured list last week, going 5-for-13 with three RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored.

The Rangers activated Carter (back) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter played just one rehab game with Double-A Frisco and served as the designated hitter in that contest. He had been slated to play at least one more rehab game, but with Adolis Garcia (ankle) injured, the Rangers are bringing Carter back early. Carter has been sidelined for most of this month with back spasms.

Carter (back) took batting practice Monday and could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter has responded well to an injection for his injured back and is nearly ready to play in games. The outfielder has been sidelined for less than two weeks, so his rehab assignment is likely to be brief. Wyatt Langford has been playing center field since Carter went down, but Langford should return to left field once Carter is ready to return.
