Aybar is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After starting both games so far in the series against Milwaukee, Aybar will head to the bench for a normal day off. Daniel Castro will take over for him at shortstop and bat seventh.

Aybar is not in the lineup for Sundays' game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Aybar started the last two games after missing Thursday's contest due to a freak accident, but manager Brian Snitker decided to hold him out Sunday. Daniel Castro will cover the shortstop position in Aybar's place.

Aybar is back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
In a freak occurrence, Aybar got a chicken bone stuck in his throat and had to go to the doctor to have it removed. Fortunately, it seems he's OK to return after missing just one start, but Aybar's done next nothing offensively this season and little lately to suggest he may be close to breaking out of his prolonged slump.

Aybar is out of Thursday's lineup because he had to go to the doctor to have a chicken bone removed from his throat, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Aybar was reportedly supposed to be in Thursday's lineup, but this offbeat occurrence kept that from happening. It's unclear how long he'll be out due to this issue, but things should become clearer as Friday's game time approaches.

Aybar is out of the lineup Thursday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday night's 0-for-4 performance brought Aybar's batting average even further below the Mendoza Line, so he'll retreat to the bench for Thursday's series finale. It seems the Braves are trying to give Daniel Castro more time at shortstop, as they even had Aybar play second base for the first time since 2008 so that Castro could stay at shortstop. Castro will take over for him at shortstop once again Thursday, as it seems the Braves may be considering options other than Aybar going forward.

Aybar is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Aybar has gotten off to a horrible start to the season, batting just .181 with four extra-base hits, and it appears that interim manager Brian Snitker wants to see what somebody else can do at shortstop right from the get-go. It's unclear how this will play out over the rest of the season, but for Tuesday, he'll cede the start at shortstop to Daniel Castro.

Aybar is 23-for-127 (.181) with four extra-base hits, two stolen bases, five RBI and seven runs this season.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves shortstop has actually been better in May, going 9-for-44 (.205), but he's still been pretty awful. Aybar owns a .422 OPS, which is the worst in the majors. He also has 26 strikeouts versus just four walks. Aybar continues to be Atlanta's starting shortstop, but it will be interesting to see if there are any major changes to the Braves lineup with manager Fredi Gonzalez being fired Tuesday.

Aybar is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Aybar was likely due for a regular maintenance day, as the 32-year-old switch-hitter had made 12 consecutive starts at shortstop. Although a reliable defensive option, Aybar's results at the plate this year leave much to be desired, as he owns just a .426 OPS through 131 plate appearances. In his stead, manager Fredi Gonzalez will turn to Daniel Castro to start at shortstop Sunday afternoon.

Aybar went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The struggling shortstop may finally be starting to come alive for the Braves. Aybar is hitting .304 in his last six games, but all of that work only brings his average up to .178 for the season. Since Aybar has hit worse than .270 just once since 2008, he should bring his average up significantly sooner rather than later.

Aybar has continued to receive playing time at shortstop despite really struggling through the first three and a half weeks of the season.
EDGE Analysis
After not starting Monday, Aybar returned to the lineup on Tuesday. The 32-year-old is last in the league with a .336 OPS and owns the second-worst Defensive Runs Saved (-4) total among all eligible shortstops. Daniel Castro is the shortstop of the future in Atlanta, but he is currently starting at second base. Manager Fredi Gonzalez did tell Mark Bowman of MLB.com that although he will eventually flip the two fielders, he isn't ready to make that change.
