Aybar is not in the lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks. The everyday shortstop will get a scheduled day off Thursday as Taylor Featherston gets the nod at shortstop. Featherston will bat eighth against Arizona starter Allen Webster.

Aybar went 3-for-6 with two runs scored in a win over the Rays on Tuesday. Aybar now has five hits in his last three games, but has recorded just one extra-base hit and has yet to steal a base in June. Aybar will likely remain at the top of the lineup for the time being, which could mean some opportunities to swipe bags if he can continue to get on base.

Aybar (hamstring) will return to the lineup Sunday, batting leadoff against the Tigers. Aybar was expected to rejoin the Angels' lineup Sunday, and that is indeed the case. The hamstring issue reportedly felt "great" Friday, but he sat out both then and Saturday regardless. The trainers must be satisfied with his progress however, as he'll retake his spot atop the order, bumping Johnny Giavotella down to ninth in the order.

Manager Mike Scioscia said Aybar (hamstring) is expected to start Sunday against the Tigers, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Aybar missed the last two games as a result of the injury, but was never expected to be sidelined for an extended period. He will look to close out May on a high note after hitting .314 in 102 at-bats so far this month.

Aybar (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Tigers, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Aybar said he felt "great" Friday and suggested his absence was merely precautionary, but it seems the training staff still has some reservations about the health of his left hamstring. Grant Green will get the start at shortstop Saturday in place of Aybar, who remains day-to-day ahead of Sunday's series finale.

Aybar (hamstring) said Friday that he feels "great" and could play but will opt to sit out in an effort to make sure he is in the lineup Saturday, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher reports. This crisis appears to be averted and he should be back in the lineup sometime this weekend. Taylor Featherston is getting the start at shortstop Friday.

Aybar (hamstring) is out of the lineup Friday, the Los Angeles Times' Bill Shaikin reports. Aybar is experiencing hamstring tightness but manager Mike Scioscia said he is optimistic that it will not require a DL stint. Taylor Featherston will get the start at shortstop Friday and Aybar should be considered day-to-day.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia doesn't expect Aybar (hamstring tightness) to require a stint on the disabled list, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports. Scioscia made the comment shortly after Thursday's game against the Tigers, and his initial optimism doesn't carry too much weight, as he also noted that the team won't rush its shortstop back. Aybar was removed from Thursday's game in favor of Taylor Featherston after trying to beat out a bunt in the sixth inning.

Aybar exited Thursday's game against the Tigers in the sixth inning with left hamstring tightness, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Aybar appeared to tweak his hamstring when he attempted to run out a bunt. He was replaced in the next half inning at shortstop by Taylor Featherston, but the Angels haven't provided word on the severity of the injury just yet. If Aybar is forced to head to the DL as a result of the injury, it would be a crippling blow to the offensive-starved Angels, as the infielder had been its most productive contributor with a .341 average over the preceding 23 games.

Aybar went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, a stolen base and two runs scored in a win over the Red Sox on Friday. Aybar has quietly had a productive month of May, hitting .316 with a .405 slugging percentage in 79 at-bats. While he may hit for a nice average, Aybar doesn't have much power, and is once again showing a tentative approach on the base paths, as the former 30-stolen base threat swiped his first bag of the season Friday.
