Thames (thumb) underwent surgery on his left thumb Friday and will be out for six-to-eight weeks.
EDGE Analysis
Thames headed to Phoenix to get a second opinion on the torn UCL in his left thumb, and ended up opting for surgery. The 31-year-old is likely looking at a return in mid-June, and the Brewers should utilize Jesus Aguilar and Ryan Braun to take over first base in his absence.

Thames will head to Phoenix to receive a second opinion on his injured thumb, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thames landed on the disabled list Wednesday with a torn UCL in his left thumb. While surgery seems likely at this point, the Brewers want to gather multiple opinions before determining the first baseman's next step. Thames could go under the knife as soon as Friday, after which there should be a clearer idea regarding his recovery timetable.

Thames was placed on the 10-day disabled list after being diagnosed with a torn UCL in his left thumb.
EDGE Analysis
The slugger exited Tuesday's contest after making a diving stop in the eighth inning, and it seems like he did quite a bit of damage in that play. Torn UCLs in the thumb typically take at least six weeks to recover if surgery isn't required. It's unclear if Thames will be going the surgical route or not, but he will be missing an extended period regardless. Look for Ryan Braun and Jesus Aguilar to pick up more starts at first base while he's out of action.

Thames, who exited Tuesday's game against the Royals in the ninth inning, will undergo an MRI on his left thumb Wednesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers are concerned that Thames may have suffered ligament damage in his left thumb when he made a diving stop in the field during the eighth inning. Wednesday's test will provide a definitive answer on that front, so consider him day-to-day until the MRI results are revealed. Jesus Aguilar would see extended playing time if Thames were to require a trip to the DL.

Thames is not in the lineup Sunday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Thames will be given the afternoon off as the Brewers look to complete a four-game sweep of the Marlins with lefty Caleb Smith on the mound. Thames' platoon mate Jesus Aguilar draws the start at first base in his stead while Ryan Braun occupies left field duties.

Thames went 1-for-3 on Friday with a double, an RBI, a run scored, two walks and a stolen base in the Brewers' 8-0 win over Miami.
EDGE Analysis
Thames did a little bit of everything Friday night, as he earned his RBI on a bases-loaded walk and also struck out twice as well. The stolen base was his second of the year, and he now has 12 RBI in 19 games. Although his batting average sits at .250, Thames has an OPS of 1.032. Much like last year, the lefty slugger is off to a powerful start, and is leading all first basemen with seven home runs.

Thames is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Despite knocking homers in each of the previous two games, Thames will head to the bench for Thursday's series opener against the Marlins with a southpaw toeing the rubber for Miami (Dillon Peters). In his stead, Jesus Aguilar will start at first base and hit fifth.

Thames went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
His third-inning blast off Tyler Mahle produced the only offense in the game, while putting Thames among the league leaders with seven homers on the season. The 31-year-old isn't having the same kind of blistering start he did in his return to MLB last year, though, and his .231 batting average isn't far out of line with expectations.

Thames provided all the offense in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Reds, going 1-for-4 with a two-run homer.
EDGE Analysis
After missing Monday's tilt with a groin strain, Thames looked back to full health in mashing his sixth dinger of the season. The lefty is now up to third in the league in the home run department, behind only Bryce Harper and Charlie Blackmon, and figures to be a lineup mainstay against right-handed pitching.

Thames (groin) is back in action Tuesday against the Reds, hitting second and playing first base.
EDGE Analysis
Thames left Sunday's game early due to a mild groin strain, but it seems like taking Monday off was all he needed to be healthy enough to play again. He'll take over again at first base, though he may be afforded more time off now that Ryan Braun and Christian Yelich are both healthy again.
