Thames is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Thames will head to the bench with a lefty (Jason Vargas) on the mound for the opposition. Though Thames has seen his opportunities in the outfield pick up of late, the door is probably closed on that front with Christian Yelich (back) returning from a six-game absence Sunday. Thames will now have to contend for playing time at first base with Jesus Aguilar, who has struggled at the dish for much of the season but has enjoyed a strong homestand.

Thames is not starting Friday against southpaw Steven Matz and the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has started against six straight righties but hasn't started against a lefty all season. Jesus Aguilar gets the call at first base.

Thames will start at first base and bat second Thursday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Thames is in the lineup for the third straight game, this time filling in for a resting Jesus Aguilar after replacing Christian Yelich (back) in the outfield Tuesday and Wednesday. Yelich is trending toward a return to the lineup this weekend against the Mets and Aguilar's bat has finally awoken from its season-long slumber, so Thames' run of steady at-bats may soon come to an end.

Thames is not in the lineup Monday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Thames will find his usual spot on the bench with a left-hander in Kyle Freeland toeing the rubber for the opposition. Over his last 10 appearances, the first baseman is slashing .364/.481/.818 with a trio of homers and nine RBI. Jesus Aguilar gets the start in his stead Monday.

Thames is on the bench Sunday against lefty Steven Matz and Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has been earning more playing time at first base, starting three straight games. He appears to now be in a platoon with Jesus Aguilar, who lost his starting role after opening the season hitting .129 with zero homers in 24 games. The Brewers face another lefty in Kyle Freeland on Monday but then square off against another run of righties, at which point it should become clear whether the situation is truly a platoon or if Aguilar was simply getting a stretch off to clear his head.

Thames went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored against the Mets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Thames belted a double to right field in the third inning, extending Milwaukee's lead to three. The 32-year-old has fared well in his past three games at the plate, collecting four hits --including three for extra bases -- and five five RBI over that stretch.

Thames will start at first base and bat seventh Friday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Thames receives the starting nod for the fourth time in the last seven games, matching his start total from the first 20 games of the year. The 32-year-old is slashing .273/.327/.614 with five home runs in 49 plate appearances and currently appears to have the edge on the still-struggling Jesus Aguilar.

Thames went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Thames did his part to try and power Milwaukee's offense Wednesday, but didn't end up receiving much help from his teammates. The 32-year-old is slashing .273/.327/.614 with five home runs and 12 RBI through 44 plate appearances, and could end up seeing more frequent starts at first base given Jesus Aguilar's continued struggles at the plate.

Thames went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit three-run home run in a 6-5 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Brewers manager Craig Counsell elected to pinch hit Thames for Hernan Perez with two runs aboard and two outs in the eighth inning. Thames rewarded his manager with a three-run homer to tie the game. Thames has four home runs this season, including two in the last three games. He is also hitting .270 with 11 RBI and five runs in 37 at-bats.

Thames went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Erratic playing time has limited Thames' production so far, and while he does have three homers in 38 plate appearances, Friday's blast was his first while getting a chance to start. The 32-year-old sports a .257/.289/.514 slash line, but his 1:17 BB:K is a red flag.
