Surkamp (back) was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday. Surkamp will look to carve out a role in the White Sox bullpen when he's first eligible to return on April 11.

Drabeck remains in the mix for the Whtie Sox's final bullpen spot, the team's official site reports. Either he or Kyle Drabeck will emerge from camp as the team's 11th pitcher, which will probably consist of a mix of long- and short-inning work.

Surkamp was among the White Sox's roster additions Tuesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Surkamp has bounced between the majors and bullpen for much of the past month, but he should serve in his usual mopup role for the season's final few weeks.

Surkamp was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, the MLB reports. Surkamp was just called up to the majors Saturday morning to play in the doubleheader for the White Sox against the Tigers, however, he didn't throw a single inning in the two games.

Surkamp was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday. Surkamp will provide the White Sox with another arm out of the bullpen Saturday for the doubleheader they have with the Tigers. With rosters expanding Monday, he will probably stick with the team for the remainder of the season.

Surkamp has been optioned to Triple-A Charlotte, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The move was made after Friday's game for the return of Javy Guerra, who will be back after a brief stint away from the club for personal reasons.

White Sox recalled LHP Eric Surkamp from Triple-A Charlotte. Surkamp has posted a 4.54 ERA and 84/17 K/BB ratio in 73 1/3 innings (11 starts and three relief appearances) this season at the Triple-A level. He is taking the roster spot of veteran left-hander Scott Downs, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
