Lauer (4-4) earned the win Monday against the Pirates after tossing five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and fanning three.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer took advantage of the fact that he was facing one of the weakest offenses in the National League to deliver one of his best outings of the campaign, but this shouldn't be much of a surprise considering the way he's been pitching of late. Aside from pitching five scoreless frames, Lauer also tossed 54 of his 84 pitches for strikes and didn't walk anyone for the second time over his last three outings. He owns an excellent 1.44 ERA across his last six starts and hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of those contests.

Lauer didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Royals, giving up two unearned runs on three hits over five innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw exited the game in line for the win with the Brewers ahead 3-2, but Brent Suter immediately coughed three unearned runs in the sixth inning. Lauer hadn't had an outing of at least five innings with zero free passes since May 4, and his efficiency remains the biggest obstacle between him and a breakout. On the season, he sports a 3.52 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 60:24 K:BB through 61.1 innings.

Lauer is dealing with a fingernail issue, but manager Craig Counsell said the lefty will be ready to start Wednesday against the Royals, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer swapped spots in the Brewers' second-half pitching schedule with Brett Anderson, who will get the nod Tuesday. The issue doesn't sound like it's particularly serious, so the Brewers will deploy Lauer in hopes that he can continue his form from his final three starts before the All-Star break, a stretch in which he allowed just two runs in 18.1 innings.

Lauer (3-4) allowed a run on four walks and four hits over six innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer held the Reds scoreless through three innings before coughing up an RBI double to Tucker Barnhart in the fourth. It was his third consecutive quality start and he dropped his season ERA to 3.83 through 56.1 innings this season. He took his first loss since June 14 and broke a short two-start winning streak. With as well as he's pitched recently, Lauer should continue getting looks as the starter after the All-Star break.

Lauer (3-3) earned the win Saturday against the Pirates after hurling 6.1 innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and four walks while fanning four.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer picked up his third win of the season and notched his second straight quality start in the process. The 26-year-old southpaw owns a 2.08 ERA over his last three appearances and is going through his most productive stretch of the season, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to hold that up since he owns a 5.40 ERA with a 29:17 K:BB since the beginning of June across six appearances. His next start is slated to come next week at home against the Reds.

Lauer (2-3) secured his second win of the season Sunday against the Rockies after tossing six shutout innings while allowing two hits, two walks and striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer was in peak form Sunday as he blanked the Rockies while allowing just four baserunners over six innings. The only real scoring threat they had was bases-loaded in the second but Lauer was able to escape after striking out Chi Chi Gonzalez. All six of his strikeouts and all 12 of his total whiffs came via his fastball. Lauer lowered his ERA to 4.50 and has a 47:16 K:BB over 44 innings. He has another favorable matchup on tap against the Pirates later in the week.

Lauer allowed three runs on five hits and a walk over five innings in Sunday's win over the Rockies. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer actually cruised through five shutout innings before a disastrous start to the sixth. He gave up three straight hits, including back-to-back homers by Yonathan Daza and Trevor Story, before he was lifted from the contest. The 26-year-old southpaw maintained his 1-3 record while his ERA bumped up to 5.21. He's given up 16 runs in as many innings over his last four outings. If he gets another turn in the rotation, Lauer could face Colorado again, this time at home, next weekend.

Lauer will start Sunday's game against the Rockies in Colorado, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Milwaukee is in the midst of a stretch of 16 games in 16 days, so Lauer will temporarily remain part of a six-man rotation as manager Craig Counsell looks to build in some extra rest for the team's top five starters. Lauer underwhelmed his last time out June 14 versus the Reds, giving up four runs on five hits and four walks over five innings to take his third loss of the season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect better results from the lefty this weekend at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Lauer (1-3) was tagged with the loss Monday against the Reds after allowing four runs on five hits and four walks while fanning three across five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer has pitched more than five innings just twice all season long and has been showing some control issues over his last few outings, as he owns a 14:10 K:BB across his three starts this month. The former Kent State product has been serving as the Brewers' sixth starter on a temporal basis, but his numbers haven't been very good -- he owns a 5.18 ERA in eight appearances (five starts) thus far.

Lauer will serve at least temporarily as the Brewers' sixth starter and will get the ball Monday against the Reds, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers are in the middle of a 16-day stretch with no off days and want to give their starters some extra rest, so they'll turn to Lauer for a start or two. The lefty has made four starts and three relief appearances this season, posting a poor 4.82 ERA despite a solid combination of a 27.0 percent strikeout rate and a 7.4 percent walk rate.
