Lauer (3-0) picked up the win Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in a 6-3 victory over Atlanta. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw tossed 94 pitches (59 strikes) as he reeled off his fourth straight quality start. The three free passes were a season high for Lauer and he did serve up another homer, his fourth in 29.2 innings on the year, but it's hard to argue with the career-high 36.2 percent strikeout rate he's compiled so far. Lauer will take a 1.82 ERA and 0.94 WHIP into his next outing.

Lauer (2-0) got the win during Saturday's 9-1 victory over the Cubs, allowing one run on five hits and a walk with 11 strikeouts in seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off a 13-strikeout performance on Sunday Night Baseball, Lauer put up nearly as many whiffs Saturday and got the win this time. Milwaukee jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and the 26-year-old faltered just once when he served up a Yan Gomes solo shot in the second inning. Lauer is among the leaders in both ERA and strikeouts, and it appears Milwaukee's penchant for developing pitchers has uncovered another gem. He's tentatively projected to take the hill next against Cincinnati on Wednesday.

Lauer didn't factor into the decision during Sunday's 1-0 victory over Philadelphia, allowing five hits and a walk with 13 strikeouts in six scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer was in top form for a Sunday Night Baseball pitchers duel with Aaron Nola, running into trouble in just the fifth inning when he was able to work out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam unscathed. The 26-year-old has a career 8.7 K/9 mark but took it to the next level Sunday with 13 whiffs, at one point striking out six straight. Lauer will take his dazzling 2.20 ERA through 16.1 innings into his next start against the Cubs on Saturday.

Lauer (1-0) picked up the win in Monday's 6-1 victory over the Pirates, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
A fourth-inning solo shot by Diego Castillo was the only blemish on his line. Lauer tossed 64 of 87 pitches for strikes in the quality start. The 26-year-old southpaw has had a solid start to the season with a 3.48 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB through 10.1 innings, though it should be noted his two starts came against marginal opposition in the Bucs and O's.

Lauer gave up four runs -- three earned -- over 4.1 innings and did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's victory over the Orioles. He allowed three hits and posted a 5:2 K:BB in the contest.
EDGE Analysis
Lauer was not sharp Tuesday, but he limited the damage and the Brewers' offense and bullpen wound up taking him off the hook. He posted a 2.23 ERA in 80.2 innings over his final 15 appearances of the 2021 campaign, so he presumably has some level of security despite being at the back end of the Brewers' rotation.

Manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Lauer (groin) is "full go" after being scratched from his scheduled Cactus League start against the White Sox on Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers considered Lauer's groin injury to be minor, and he was able to throw a side session Wednesday. The southpaw should be able to make his next turn through the rotation, and it's unlikely that his groin issue will impact his availability for Opening Day.

Lauer (groin) and the Brewers agreed Tuesday on a one-year, $2.425 million contract to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw was one of nine arbitration-eligible Brewers to settle up on a deal for 2022 prior to Tuesday's filing deadline. With his contract situation now resolved, Lauer will turn his focus to moving past the groin issue that resulted in him being scratched from his scheduled Cactus League start Tuesday against the White Sox. According to Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin, both Lauer and manager Craig Counsell described the injury as a minor concern, so the 26-year-old lefty still looks like he's on track to break camp as a member of the Milwaukee rotation.

Lauer was scratched from his scheduled Tuesday start against the White Sox due to a minor groin injury, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers expect Lauer to return to the mound for his next start. Assuming that winds up happening, Lauer should still be able to make the Opening Day roster, but it's possible he'll be on a reduced pitch count for his first turn in the rotation if he's not quite fully built up with his workload.

Lauer allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over 3.2 innings during the loss to Atlanta in Game 4 of the NLDS on Tuesday. He had two strikeouts and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers ended a 22-inning scoreless streak to provide the left-hander a 2-0 lead during the top of the fourth inning, but he was unable to maintain that advantage while failing to complete the bottom of the frame. Lauer ended up throwing 50 of 74 pitches for strikes and generated nine whiffs on the day. The 26-year-old was a reliable starter for Milwaukee in 2021 with a 3.19 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 117:41 K:BB over 118.2 innings, and he'll enter the offseason as a safe bet to begin spring training in the starting rotation.

Lauer will start Game 4 of the NLDS on Tuesday against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
This will be Lauer's postseason debut. He gave up five runs in five innings against the Dodgers on Oct. 1 - his last appearance - but he logged a 1.15 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB in 31.1 innings over his five starts prior to that final outing. With this being a must-win game for Milwaukee, manager Craig Counsell will likely turn to his bullpen at the first sign of trouble, and Lauer almost certainly won't face any hitters more than twice.
