Haase went 1-for-2 with a walk and a three-run home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Haase relieved Tucker Barnhart in this one and proceeded to hit his first spring home run. Haase is now batting .300 with a 1.162 OPS in Grapefruit League action, while Barnhart is batting just .077 with a .154 OPS. It's a small sample size and still very early of course, but Haase may be able to secure more playing time during the regular season if he looks this much better at the plate than Barnhart. As it stands, Barnhart is the de facto No. 1 catcher, though the two players could split time fairly evenly to start the year. Haase may also see some time at DH, particularly if the Tigers keep Dustin Garneau on the roster as a third catcher.

Detroit manager A.J. Hinch said Haase is a "catcher first," though he will play some at first base and in left field, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers added Tucker Barnhart in the offseason to play behind the plate, so there was some thought that Haase would primarily play elsewhere with Barnhart taking over as the No. 1 catcher. However, Hinch's comments suggest the two could split duties more evenly. Haase appeared in 98 games last season and popped 22 home runs, and he should maintain decent fantasy value if his playing time looks similar in 2022.

Haase could work in a utility role this season, potentially working as a backup catcher as well as an option at first base and in the outfield, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers acquired Tucker Barnhart in November, and he will likely serve as the team's No. 1 catcher. Haase figures to work as the primary backup, though Dustin Garneau is also in the mix. Haase also has the ability to play at first and in the corner outfield spots, which should help his playing time outlook. Haase popped a career-best 22 home runs in 2021, so he could be a decent fantasy option as long as he sees the field often enough.

Haase isn't starting Thursday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Haase will get a breather after he went 5-for-13 with a double, two runs, two RBI and three strikeouts across the last three games. Dustin Garneau will start at catcher and bat eighth.

Haase went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Haase recorded two hits in the second straight game, which is a welcome sign after he had just two hits total in his last five contests before Monday. The 28-year-old may have a hot streak in him to end the year and could bolster his already career-best counting stats.

Haase went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Monday's loss to the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Haase has been struggling lately, as he came into Monday batting just .121 over his previous 10 contests. This was also his first multi-hit performance since Aug. 14. He's offset that to some degree with 22 home runs and 59 RBI this season, but Haase will need to prove his value again in 2022 given his limited MLB success before this year.

Haase is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Haase has had a very encouraging season, but he's stumbling a bit down the stretch. He hasn't had a multi-hit game since he returned from an abdominal injury in late August, hitting .183/.244/.310 in 21 games over that stretch. Dustin Garneau will start behind the plate Saturday.

Haase went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Haase and Dustin Garneau popped solo home runs, which was enough for the Tigers in the 2-0 win. Haase now has 22 home runs this season, which has helped offset his .231 batting average. The 28-year-old is batting just .182 this month, but his ability to leave the yard gives him some fantasy appeal down the stretch, especially from the catcher position.

Haase is starting in left field and batting sixth in Sunday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Haase started at catcher Friday before getting a day off Saturday, and he'll now slide over to left field with Dustin Garneau picking up the start behind the plate. Haase has struggled this month with a .171/.239/.317 slash line, though he does have 21 home runs this season and could still provide some power for fantasy managers down the stretch.

Haase will not start Saturday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Haase has gone cold at the plate in September, hitting just .171, though he does at least have a pair of homers. Dustin Garneau starts behind the plate Saturday, catching Tarik Skubal.
