Julien will cede second base to Keaschall for a second straight day to close out the series with the Tigers, who have sent right-handed starters to the hill for both of those contests.

Julien has started at the keystone in all four games for the Twins since he was called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday in the aftermath of the trade deadline. Though Julien should have a pathway to an everyday lineup spot the rest of the season if he can produce at the plate, he's mustered just one hit and one walk while striking out five times in nine at-bats through his first three contests following his promotion. Luke Keaschall (forearm) could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list by the end of the week and may push Julien for playing time at the keystone if the latter player isn't able to get going at the dish.

With Luke Keaschall staying in Triple-A for a longer rehab assignment, Julien may get steady time at second base and first base in the near term after the Twins traded away nine players at the trade deadline. Julien is hitting .278/.430/.444 at Triple-A since he was sent down in early May. He's reduced his strikeout rate to 21.7 percent in June, which could show he's found some changes in his approach as a high strikeout rate has been his problem in the majors even with accompanying high walk rates. His recent hot streak could give him another shot in the majors soon with the Twins struggling and perhaps looking to shake up the roster.
