Padres released RHP Eddie Kunz. Kunz was a supplemental first-round pick of the Mets in 2007, but he has failed to live up to the hype. The 26-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched in the majors since 2008 and posted a 5.77 ERA and 39/39 K/BB ratio over 87 1/3 innings last season between Double- and Triple-A.
