Marlins signed RHP Dustin Moseley to a minor league contract. The veteran right-hander missed the entire 2013 season and all of 2014 thus far due to recurring shoulder problems. He hasn't pitched in the big leagues since the 2012 season when he was a member of the Padres. He'll try to regain his form in the minor leagues.

Padres RHP Dustin Moseley has cleared waivers and elected to become a free agent. Moseley was limited to just one major league start on the season before undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his throwing shoulder. The 30-year-old right-hander should return at some point in the 2013 season.

Padres transferred RHP Dustin Moseley from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Dale Thayer on the 40-man roster. Moseley underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his throwing shoulder and will likely be out until some point during the 2013 season.

Dustin Moseley underwent shoulder surgery Wednesday. Moseley was diagnosed last weak with a torn labrum and capsule in his throwing shoulder. He's done for the 2012 season and is likely to miss part of 2013 as well.

Dustin Moseley conceded Thursday that shoulder surgery is probably his "only option." Moseley was placed on the disabled list earlier this month with a strained right shoulder. An MRI revealed extensive damage, affecting the rotator cuff and labrum. It's not clear when he'll make a final decision on surgery, but it would almost certainly put the rest of the season at risk.

Padres manager Bud Black said Dustin Moseley (shoulder) is expected to spend more than 15 days on the disabled list. Black didn't elaborate more than that, but Dan Hayes of the North County Times said the MRI on Moseley's shoulder "didn't sound good." We'll update his condition when more is known. Anthony Bass will take Moseley's spot in the rotation on Thursday, and it sounds like he could remain there for a while.

Padres placed RHP Dustin Moseley on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder. This one came out of nowhere, as we weren't aware of any shoulder issues Moseley had this spring. He had surgery on his non-throwing shoulder last August. We'll update his status when more is known, but you'd have to think he'll probably need more than the minimum 15 days on the DL. Moseley had been slated to make his first start on Thursday, but now Anthony Bass or Micah Owings will probably get that assignment.

Dustin Moseley gave up five runs in five innings Saturday in a no-decision versus the Dodgers. Moseley was a nice surprise with a 3.30 ERA last year, though it resulted in a 3-10 record in his 20 starts. At best, he's only worth using in NL-only leagues in his Petco starts, and Petco didn't do him too much good tonight.

Dustin Moseley gave up seven runs (four earned) over five innings Friday night against the Giants. All seven runs scored in the fifth inning. Moseley allowed nine hits (including a three-run homer by Palbo Sandoval) while fanning two and walking two. This was the first time he has allowed more than two earned runs in a start this spring. The 30-year-old right-hander had a 3.30 ERA over 20 starts last season, but he's not worth owning outside of NL-only formats.

Dustin Moseley held the Brewers to one run on four hits over four innings of work Thursday. He recorded a pair of strikeouts. Moseley wasn't so good in his first spring outing, but he's now given up just one run over his last seven frames while sporting a 5/0 K/BB ratio. He posted a 3.30 ERA and 64/36 K/BB ratio over 120 innings last season and could be a decent plug-and-play fantasy option for home starts.
