Ackley singled Thursday for just his fifth hit (all singles) in his last 39 at-bats after starting the season 6-for-17 with three home runs and a double. Ackley has seven strikeouts and one walk in that time too. On other hand, 14 games in April, the span of his slump, is not a big sample size to judge. Still, if he doesn't show consistent life at the plate for the first time in four years, he could see his playing time dry up.

Ackley is back in the lineup Thursday against the Astros. Ackley has not started since Sunday, but he's logged a pinch hit at-bat in each of the last two games. He'll be back at his usual left field spot Thursday as Rickie Weeks moves to the bench.

Ackley is out of the lineup Wednesday, the Tacoma News Tribune's Bob Dutton reports. With a lefty (Wandy Rodriguez) on the mound for Texas, Ackley will take has traditional spot on the bench. Justin Ruggiano will get the start in left field and hit second.

Ackley was surprisingly held out of Monday's lineup against right-handed Yovani Gallardo, but with lefty Ross Detwiler going for the Rangers on Tuesday, it was expected that Ackley would sit. Rickie Weeks and Justin Ruggiano are manning the corner-outfield sports.

Ackley is not in the lineup Monday against the Rangers. Ackley has received most of his days off when facing a southpaw, but he'll head to the bench Monday against the right-handed Yovani Gallardo. Rickie Weeks will make the start in left field and bat sixth in his stead.

Ackley is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers. Ackley will take a seat with lefty Ross Detwiler on the hill for the Rangers, giving way to Justin Ruggiano in left field. Manager Lloyd McClendon has sat Ackley each time a southpaw has taken the hill for the opposing team this year, and Sunday will be no different.

Ackley is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, Eric Stephens of True Blue LA reports. Ackley will sit for a second straight day with another lefty on the mound for the Dodgers. With the right-handed Yovani Gallardo considered the probable pitcher for the Mariners' next game Friday, it's likely that he'll rejoin the lineup then.

Ackley is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports. Rickie Weeks will take over in left field and atop the order Tuesday against left-hander David Huff. It appears as though Ackley and Weeks will indeed be deployed in a platoon moving forward, with Ackley seeing the lion's share of the starts as the lefty bat.

Ackley hit his third homer of the season Monday at the Dodgers. Ackley has a hit in each of his five games this season. He usually sits against left-handers, but that has only cost him two games thus far.

Ackley is out of the lineup Friday against the A's. Manager Lloyd McClendon will stack his lineup with primarily right-handed bats against lefty Drew Pomeranz, with the exceptions being Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager and Logan Morrison. Ackley will sit in favor of Rickie Weeks, who will make his first career regular-season appearance in left field and bat leadoff for the second time this season.
